First mention of Mel's site on list ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 1 May 2015 16:12:22 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: First mention of Mel's site on list So, unless everyone has got themselves set "no post", people either can't remember Darkangel's FKFIC-L website at all, or they think everyone else has e-mailed me about it already. (Which isn't true: I've heard nothing. If you *do* recall the site, do please tell me!) However.... Continuing through the Dusty Vaults of Knightwind's Nook, I've just come upon a post made by Mel Moser on 5 May 1996. I'm still not sure what *further* connection there may be between the "FKFIC-L archive" and Mel's. It looks as though she started writing the webpages just for herself to look at on her own computer, and then made them available on her personal site *because* Darkangel discontinued the other site. The first scope of the site is clearly small. Talk about tiny acorns growing into mighty oaks! This is what she wrote: > FK Fan Fiction fans: > I did this sort of on a whim. I had alot of the recent fan fictions > already in my mail folders, so I decided to start throwing up some > WWW pages to help me view them easier. > > Since I've seen a number of laments about DarkAngel's fan fiction > archives on the Web shutting down and with the ftp site undergoing > repairs, you are more than welcome to check out what I've got started > and let me know what you think. > > The URL is: > http://www.clark.net/pub/moser/fkfanfic.htm > > Disclaimers: I only have some stories starting about mid-April.
