By the time everyone had put in their own ideas for the menu, it turned out that--if we made the lot--we'd have far more than we could ever eat ourselves. So the suggestion has been made that we invite everyone else. If you want to come to dinner, please contact me. If you want to bring a favourite family recipe--make sure to say so! A few words about yourself would also be helpful. Please, as Don put it, "No tricks, attacks, or traps...just a lot of good food and camaraderie." After all, it is Thanksgiving. I'm not enjoying myself, and there are some posts being made that have really been bothering me. On top of that, despite the fact I tried to clear my schedule for two weeks for this, where are things in my life that are falling apart without me and I really need to give them my attention. So yeah, I think it's just for the best if I stop playing. -- Naia Zifu<naia_zifu@b.......> ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Oct 2010 20:49:35 -0700 From: NAT <nat1228@c.......> Subject: WAR: KNIGHTIES: Summary for Oct. 10 Summary for Oct. 10: 1) Title: The Hurl of Sandwich Author: Knightie Nat and Cousin Shelley Faction: Knighties Date: BACKDATED to Oct. 5 Time: Mid-Afternoon; after "Cousins: Cousins Will Be Cousins" Disclaimers: All participants and story clips used with permission. At the urging of Cousin Arletta, Cousin Shelley (who currently thinks she's a Knightie) makes sandwiches for the Knighties filled with a list of ingredients designed NOT to mix well. But, it turns out that Co-Leader Nat actually *liked* the "toxic" and "vile" food prepared by Shelley. The other Knighties gag on the sandwiches and think that Nat might be a bit crazy for this early in the war. 2) Title: A Pirate's Life for Me Author: Eowyn Date: October 10, 2010 Time: Early Morning, Still Dark Dread Pirate Queen Eowyn is awakened by the sound of an Annoy-a-Tron to find her thigh-high pirate boots missing, along with the clothes of her alter-ego, a "lubber wench." She quietly (so as not to awaken the other Knighties) begins to search the loft for the lubber-wench's clothes and finds the Annoy-a-Tron that woke her up in the linen closet. The noise the thing was making reminded her of a bird -- she needed a parrot (and an eye patch, a sword, a head bandanna, and gold necklaces)! A prickle in her mind reminded her of a Knight's Guild Costume Shoppe (run by the Mercs). She emails the shop and gets her answer -- yes, but it will cost in chocolate. She finds Nick's credit card in the hand of sleeping Knightie Leader Nat, and swipes it to go shopping at L'Amour du Chocolat. As she came out of the shop, she bumped into Nick who whammied her into giving back the credit card. She then took a cab to the costume shop, where she was allowed inside.... 3) Title: The Dream Curse Strikes Back Author: Knightie Katrinka Time: Morning of the 9th of October Something very strange was going on ... Gemsong tells Katrinka that she's had another dream curse. She is now Dr. Poo (think "Winnie-the-Pooh", since Gem is dressed as a bear, and "Doctor Who"). She was also a Time Poo and had a Taste'um (think TARDIS) in which to travel through time. Gem, as "Dr. Poo," mistakes Katrinka's dog, Rani, for an evil villain. But Rani only wags her tail happily. In Gem's mind there is only one thing to do, run up and down corridors; and so she drags Katrinka with her up and down the upstairs hallway of the loft, followed by the happy, playful puppy. 4) Title: Taking Rani For A Walk Author: Knightie Katrinka Timing: Sometime on Oct. 9th after Revenge of the Dream Curse (aka--The Dream Curse Strikes Back) Katrinka was still angsting over Vachon's message for Nick. She wanted Gemsong to help her get the word out, but Gem was busy being "Time Poo," and Kat couldn't trust her at the moment. But despite that, she still had to take Rani out for a walk. She passed a strip mall, where she spotted other factions shopping and overheard disparaging remarks, this time by the Dark Perks, about her attire and about her dog. She stopped and put several Knighties Rule! stickers on their car. A group from the NNPack also arrived and greeted Katrinka. She thought about putting stickers on their car too, but decided against it since the NNPack were friends to Nick and the Knighties. She spotted a Vaquera shopping and tried to pass along Vachon's message that he was all right, but the woman wouldn't believe her, stating that Vachon was missing and Katrinka couldn't have seen him. Frustrated, she plastered the Vaquera's car with stickers and then quickly left. She didn't want to get arrested for vandalism! 5) Title: Doctor Poo and The Bitter Coffee Battle Author: Knightie Katrinka Time: October 9th, sometime after Taking Rani For A Walk Doctor Poo, aka Gemsong, was brooding over "the Rani," whom she considered a villain, but everyone else said was just a friendly pup. Katrinka approaches her and asks about her new attire. "Doctor Poo" had changed her scarf for red suspenders, a bow tie, and a fez. Doctor Poo asks Kat to go to the kitchen and "fry me something" to eat. Kat explains that she's not allowed to cook. Nat comes downstairs and searches the kitchen for anything containing caffeine, since she started drinking the Canadian Diet Mountain Dew, with no caffeine, she'd been extra cranky. Doctor Poo wanted her Taste-um and her honey back, thinking "the Rani" had taken them. Poo and Nat get into a fight over who needed their "fix" more. Katrinka slipped out of the loft. A half an hour later, the two are still fighting when Kat returns from Rene's with a 'super duper largest extra caffeine coffee' and extra large honey buns for the combatants. Satisfied, the two go their separate ways to enjoy their treats and the fight was forgotten. ~*~*~*~ Nat Taylor -- Knightie Co-Leader nat1228@c....... ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Oct 2010 21:28:58 -0700 From: Liz the Lucky <lizthelucky@c.......> Subject: Re: WAR: Missing a couple days of posts > Has anyone helped you with this yet, Liz? It's now in my office on my shelf of personal achievements, that and the first FKWAR book. Susan is now watching over me which makes me smile. You built a wonderful sandbox and invited all of us to come play in it -- and made sure we all played nicely, too. Most fans today can't imagine what the net was like back then, nothing like today where you can find a dozen fan pages for every pairing of every show. It was wonderful and special to find other people who loved the show as much as I did. Without the amazing fan community you were instrumental in developing, Susan's fanfics and novel might never have happened. Heck, the second and third seasons might not have happened! Thank you, Jaye, for everything. *hugs* -Janet(te) -- NatPack, despite the name!
