It was, in the same form we see it now. I don't think this list was around
until later that year, but I don't recall any particular discussion about it
in other outlets (e.g. The Raven) either. I just figured it was a red
herring, intended to cast suspicion on the attending doc.

It also fit in with the rather exploitive devices that were standard in the
Crimetime After Primetime shows, and which FK abandoned after half a dozen
eps or less (apart from the occasional Dead Chick in Lingerie). It's
actually really odd to look at those now and think that they were pushing
the envelope -- for a latenight timeslot, yet! -- by having a girl in her
bra and having a friendly shoulder rub provide the excuse to move the strap
off her shoulder and create an image that implies a lesbian subtext that
isn't actually part of the story. I remember my jaw hitting the floor at
Nick and Janette's quite demurely costumed sex scene in "Dance by the Light
of the Moon" -- I know I had *never* seen anything like that on network TV
before.

It's no wonder everything from that lineup except FK (and, to a lesser
extent -- meaning no offense to fans of those show, but it is a lesser
extent -- Silk Stalkings and Dark Justice) is unmourned and unremembered.
They depended entirely upon a titillation factor that, in a TV landscape
where Buffy and Spike can go at it with building-demolishing enthusiasm in
the 8:00 timeslot, just doesn't get people to watch shows any more. (Well,
with the possible exception of Lexx, but even then that factor is just
tedious, and I can't wrap my mind around the fact that it keeps getting
renewed. The universe ceases to make sense to me if people are watching it
for anything other than Nigel...)

Our most benevolent listowner McLisa inquired:

>>The link for the audio book Keeper of the King at blackhat.station (the Nigel
Bennett Fan Network website) doesn't seem to be working. Does anyone know if
they're still being sold, and if so, where?<<

I'm on digest, so this has probably already been answered...

http://www.mediafans.com/exclusive_audio_book.htm

The url changed not too long ago, though BlackHat seems to have updated their
link. Perhaps it was just down temporarily? Or maybe your browser isn't
recognizing the underscores in the url?

On a related note, when I post to alt.tv.forever-knight and ask for comments,
nobody ever gives me any, so I thought I'd ask here...

Assuming the above link works for you, does anyone have any suggestions for
future versions of this little document?

Thanks.

Anyway, thanks for the link! I just ordered NICK KNIGHT. I couldn't
even find it at amazon.com, Best Buy, or anywhere else I have looked.

Thanks,

Brian

Concerning merchandise, I bought these great FK shirts at a Visions a long time
ago, and they really have seen some wear. The shirt that I would like to get
more of is the one that is black with the FK logo on front and the opening
lines on the back.
Do you know where I can obtain some new ones?

Thanks,

Brian

Did you all move to Nick's loft in Toronto and form a commune, or is it just
unusually quiet?

Thank you for your consideration, but as I said, you
can't please everyone all the time. I think you
should pick a day and time good for you (after all,
you are running the auction) and stick with it.

If the item is that important to us, those of us
without computers will find a way to get it. We can
ask a really good friend with a computer to bid for
us, or there is always the option of going to Kinkos
(most of which are open 24 hours) or cybercafe. I,
myself, have spent some late night hours at Kinkos.
