A Vaqly Declaration ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 18 Jan 2016 03:31:48 -0500 From: Teri DeLong <darius4evr@y.......> Subject: A Vaqly Declaration The lateness of this response may seem to some to be pure slackerly Vaq-tardiness, but the Vaqueras had no desire to appear heartless and u naffected by all that has happened. Quite simply, the decision was made to delay sending this message out of courteous respect for the folks who are grieving. I wish to extend heartfelt sympathy and condolences from myself and all of the Vaqueras to all those who are struggling under the crushing loss of Bonnie Pardoe. She has been a solid presence in this fandom since I joined it, and her absence will be achingly felt. I personally am saddened that I never had the chance to know the wonderfully caring, sweet, generous, loving and kind soul that everyone praises so highly, both here and in her real life. She has left a legacy of talent and artistry that will continue to touch people's hearts and lives for as long as there's an Internet and an archive of FK creativity. We, the Vaqueras, appreciate the fact that people have expressed a concern over the state and condition of Vachon's Church and the maelstrom of feelings that has swirled since the last stories were posted. We appreciate the fact that the Bonnies had no plans to leave us Vaqueras without a HeadQuarters, and that the wonderfully talented Bonnie Rutledge intends to continue with what has to be a painful and difficult task of completing the story they'd been working on together. HOWEVER, there are certain facts that cannot be ignored, and we must state them clearly here and now. No one, NO ONE outside of a faction, in or out of War, has any authority, any right to dictate what happens with that faction's HQ. No one has the power or the right to decide they don't like something about someone else's HQ, and so take it upon themselves to destroy it and rebuild it to suit themselves. We, the Vaqueras, do not recognize the validity of these stories written outside of War time, by people who have neither right nor authority to change ANYTHING about our HQ, not even the tiniest piece of broken stained glass. Rest assured that if there is another War, and IF we decide to offer ourselves up as War victims again, our Church will be exactly as it was the day we left it, right down to the rumpled up newspaper that missed the trash can and rolled behind the Lewd Talking Toilet. Respectfully, Teri Vaquera Second in Command ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 17 Jan 2016 to 18 Jan 2016 (#2016-5) *************************************************************
