There is a reason that a lot of police officers suffer through divorces. 2) 97 years. That is a really formidable amount of time to keep a relationship going. I always thought it was obvious that Nick and Janette would probably drift back together again (in a few hundred years) once they had had some time for the relationship to "refresh". I think you can see flashes of these in the immediately proceeding episodes where Janette is open to Nick's advances and wants him to spend the day with her. If things had worked a little different, I could see them as a couple at the end of the series' run. 3) Schanke and Nick cohabitating... "The odd couple" don't even begin to cover it.... 4) I'm sorry, but Nick should burn that duck-lamp as a gesture of true friendship toward Schanke. 5) "we'll cram this place with stewardesses or better still, metermaids" Schanke does have some different fetishes. 6) Nick really ain't a morning person...course waking up to Schanke is not optimum....but the way Nick is eyeing that plateful of bacon and eggs makes his nausea clear. 7) The repartee that the writers gave Nick and Natalie is some of the best stuff in this series. "Schanke left Myra." "Get out of town!" "I may have to" "He made me eggs" "You're 800 years old, what's an egg?" 8) I have always simply loved the throaty way that Janette says "Renaissance" when she is talking Schanke. 9) "is it me, or did we just walk into a Sinatra song?" 10) "What happens when they leave the love of their life looking for cheap, quick thrills" "In my case, usually homicide" always cracks me up..Janette has such a deliciously dry wit...and with Schanke half-in-the-bag, she is free to give it rein knowing he will barely remember even being in the Raven the following day. 11) "Eternal Friends?" "Maybe more." I spotted it and started giggling like an idiot. I'm sure that the liitle old couple running the place thought I was quite deranged. Most people have minds like concrete: mixed up or permanently set. ----- Original Message ---- From: "Phillips, Tim" <Tim.Phillips@s.......> To: FORKNI-L@l....... "The odd couple" don't even begin to cover it.... Schanke says "You don't want me to move in here" Nick says "This is just one room, you have that big, beautiful house." It is to laugh!!!! One room! I laugh out loud every time I hear this. If Schanke's house is anything like mine . . . well my entire house would fit inside Nick's loft and with room left over! One room indeed. ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 2 Jun 2008 to 3 Jun 2008 (#2008-132) *************************************************************
