Couple of throw-away jokes and Natalie irritated that "he just dropped dead" and doesn't "have the answer". 2) Myra ice-climbing...OK...but can anyone see Schanke crawling up the face of a mountain??? Maybe if there was a slovaki stand at the summit.... 3) the speech Schanke delivers at the institute is very elegent...but he still looks like Igor's city-cousin standing behind that brain in a jar. 4) I love Schanke's face at learning that his quip about transplanting monkey brains into a chicken is more true than not. 5) Natalie has ridden with Nick before...and she's comfortable not wearing her seatbelt so she can sit between Nick and Schanke resting her chin on the seat-back? Braver than I would be. 6)again I am reminded how striking Janette is. What were the Powers-That-Be thinking in season 3 that they wanted someone "sexier"??? I'm guessing they'd had their brains transmorgified...because they darn sure were not thinking correctly. 7) interesting little usage of vampire powers in how Nick eves-drops. This is the sort of subtle thing that they should have done more of. 8)you'd think a basic part of the "flat-lining" procedure would be to monitor the breathing and pulse of the subject. Clearly that wasn't done because Nick's heart only beats something like once every ten or fifteen minutes and Dr. Linsmann would have had to question a living subject with that for a "resting heart-beat". 9) LaCroix or Prince from LEXX? Nigel's character here in the "after-life" is very similar to Prince in Season 3. Interesting potential for a cross-over based upon this episode. 10) "he's complicated" - boy is that an understatement of the character of Nick Knight. 11) do you think Natalie is doing CPR chest-compressions out of reflex when she finds Nick "dead" in the Loft...or because she doesn't want Schanke to ask weird questions later. 12) Nick keeps rat-poison. Clearly Screed isn't living in Toronto at this point. Why bother with poison when you get bring in a professional exterminator and pay him off with food??? 13)Ms. Disher got more into a side-slid of her eyes than most actresses can get into a page of dialogue. Braver than I would be. Purely for the camera. When you live in a world where a TV camera is on you at all times, you tend to do this. In the real world riding with Nick? Two seat belts and an air bag, please! > 6)again I am reminded how striking Janette is. What were the > Powers-That-Be thinking in season 3 that they wanted > someone "sexier"??? I'm guessing they'd had their brains > transmorgified...because they darn sure were not thinking correctly. Odd, strange, and pathetic. Really, all Janette has to do is stand there; she doesn't really even need to move or speak. > 11) do you think Natalie is doing CPR chest-compressions out of reflex > when she finds Nick "dead" in the Loft...or because she doesn't want > Schanke to ask weird questions later. Again, a move for the audience. But then, with a heart that beats only once every 15 minutes, maybe you do need a really good sttrong thump to get it started. > > 12) Nick keeps rat-poison. Even Screed couldn't get ALL the rats in Toranto. ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 21 Apr 2008 to 22 Apr 2008 (#2008-99) **************************************************************
