Remember she was just going to run away when she broke up with him and she did leave without a word between the 2nd and last season. When push comes to shove Janette is not the most reliable person to depend on. I often wondered if that were one of the reasons Nick although he always remained very close to Janette never completely went back to her. He knew he couldn't completely trust her to be there when he wanted her. Debbie If I were Nick, I might > be rather put out with LaCroix, but I'd be more than a little > "tiffed" with Janette. That may be why -- I think it's from Dark Knight -- that we learn that Janette has been in Toronto about 20 years or so, and Nick has been there as a cop for about three years, and this is his first visit to her. There is the implication also that LaCroix has been out of her life for what sounds like most of that time. I do like the look of exasperation she gets on her face when Nick comes waltzing in with David Constantine (or Schanke) and wants her to "babysit" them for "just a few hours". He fully expects, and then gets, her help. But then he grins at her and everyone melts. :-) Walt Doherty Phoenix, AZ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Apr 2008 10:36:41 +0800 From: eruve erundun <eruveerundun@y.......> Subject: Re: Episode Discussion: Father's Day Walt <wdoherty5@c.......> wrote: For all the angst and tsuris over keeping quiet or revealing knowledge of the vampire community, Nick seems rather cavalier about letting the grandson know about him. Plus the grandson readily accepts this knowledge. I was thinking may be because he grew up understanding this was part of the "family business" i.e.- transporting vamps who needed to leave town in a hurry. I mean, after you've shipped over 10 of the fanged wonders...who bats an eyelid any more? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Apr 2008 02:09:10 EDT From: KnghtWtch@a.......
