Subject: Yahoo Groups - War groups

Okay, let's try this one more time.

First, I'd like to thank Nancy Taylor, Susan Bennett, Brenda Bell, Margie
Hammet, and Laura Davies for the help they've given me.

Which is not to say that I don't still have questions! I think it might be
best, though, if I divided them up.

I'm going to start by asking about War-related groups. Obviously these only
were created by factions that took part in the Wars, i.e. mostly the major
factions. For instance, the Cousins have the FK Cousins War Loop
(fkcousinswar), which they used over multiple wars. The Nick and NatPackers
have NNWar; the Dark Perks have DP-war; and so on. On the other hand, the
Vaqueros create a new Yahoo! Group for each war, and delete it afterwards.
The reason for having a War loop, list, or group is so that only the people
participating in the war know the details of the faction planning -- the
more so since people often are members of multiple factions.

So far, so good. I can discuss this on the wiki page for the Wars, as well
as adding the information to the specific pages for each of the factions.

However, there are several factions that I know took part in the Wars, but
about whose behind-the-scenes means of communication I know nothing. (Not
that I'm privy to the *details*, mind, even when I do know the name of the
Yahoo! Group a faction used for war talk.)

The NUNKIES ANONYMOUS took part as a separate faction up to War 12. Did
they have a separate war list? What was its name? Or did they, like the
Vaqs, make a new one for each war? Or just use a mail loop?

The RAVENETTES also took part in several wars (up to War 11, I think). That
overlaps with the period when e-groups etc started. I know they had a (now
defunct) mailing list called "ravenettes"; but did they have a war list as
well?

The NATPACK?

The RATPACK?

I'm pretty sure there must be a member or two of these factions still on
FORKNI-L. Can anyone help me plump out those wiki pages?

From the "Group Information" provided on the info page for each Yahoo!
Group, it's clear that many factions have just one big list for discussion,
fanfic, announcements, and personal chat.

However, this isn't always the case. Sometimes, a faction has a separate
Adult list -- which may be for both fic and discussion, but needs an age
statement to join because of the mature subject matter. Sometimes, there's
a separate Fic list specifically for posting stories. For instance, I know
that the Nick and NatPackers have their main list (NNPack), plus a fic list
(NNFic), plus an adult list (NNAdult). Even as small a faction as the T+V
Pack had a separate adult list (T-Vadults).

I don't get the impression that this is the usual thing. On the other hand,
some of these lists are not only "restricted" in membership. They're not
even listed in the Yahoo! directory, which makes them really hard to find.

So ... do you know of any other factions that had Adult or Fic lists?

And, if you know that your faction does *not* have them, that would be
helpful, too. At least then I'll *know* I haven't missed something!
