Any more Yahoo Grouops? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 13 Jan 2020 00:34:56 +0000 From: WATSON <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Re: Any more Yahoo Grouops? I posted about this just before Christmas; and it occurred to me belatedly that it was an ill-considered time to ask. People do often have better things to do at the climax of the holiday season. :) At this point, Yahoo is still in the middle of their purge. However, it is possible to learn something about their mailing lists; and I'm wondering what else might be out there. 1. ADULT and FANFIC YAHOO GROUPS I know that some factions had multiple lists. Others posted both fic and discussion to a single list. There were also factions that had "adult" groups, for fic or discussion or both. On yet another hand, some just used an ADULT header on explicit stories, the way FKFIC-L does. While I know of *some* fic lists and adult lists (eg. NNFic and NNAdult), I'm sure there are others. It would improve our wiki articles if I were able to say for sure how the different factions handled things. In fact, it's just as helpful to know that you did NOT have separate lists: that's just as valid a piece of information to add to the article. 2. WAR LISTS Not all factions took part in wars. However, those that did often created Yahoo mailing lists specifically to deal with war-related matters. Obviously these are restricted groups: no one would want them accessible to members of rival factions!. However, knowing *about* them will help me fill out the articles on both the factions and the wars. I know some groups had permanent war lists (e.g. fkcousinswar). Others(such as the Vaqueros) made a new list for each war in which they participated, and deleted it when the war was over. What other groups had war lists? The NA, the Ravenettes, the Perks? Were they permanent, or was a new one created for each war? The actual name of the list(s) would be helpful, if you can remember. 3. FRACTIONS, etc. Some minor factions, couple factions, and fraction factions still have lists. They may not be active; but they're still there. Some may have had them in the past. Others probably never had a list made for them, or disappeared before Yahoo took over things. I'm particularly curious about the Light Cousins, INCArnates, GSS, Seducers, Faithfuls, Diviants, and Nick's Harem. (I've now been told about the Unholy Alliance.) I know the Light Cousins, in particular, had some sort of mailing list at one time; but I don't know if it was a Yahoo group or not. I also know that the *leaders* of Nick's Harem had a Yahoo group; but I don't know about the members themselves. Any help would be welcome. Greer gwatson2@r.......
