Since Yahoo is shutting down the groups and we will lose some of the
stories posted there, I thought I would visit one last time.
I think it's a tragedy that the stories that were posted there will be
lost forever. Yes, some were archived at Mel's or the second FK Fanfic
site, but many others were archived at personal FK sites that,
unfortunately, no longer exist. I still read the old stories that I can
find. I understand that many writers either had Real Life overcome them
or they just moved on to other fandoms. Many may have just lost interest
and many went on to become writers of books and articles and have
writing careers. I also realize that some of the writers have passed on.
I still miss them and their writings.
So I bid farewell to a chapter in my life that I thoroughly enjoyed and
wouldn't trade for anything in the world. The Yahoo Groups, while they
were active, was a great place to read FK Fiction.
On October 16th, Yahoo announced that they are phasing out all Yahoo!
groups. People will lose the ability to post new content on October 28th,
and Yahoo will delete all "previously posted" material on December 14th.
To say there are a lot of Forever Knight Yahoo groups is an understatement.
The heyday of the groups coincides with a lot of our fannish activity. You

Most factions had their own group; and, in some instances, stories were
posted there that were never crossposted elsewhere.
If you were/are in a group, and you think there's something there you might
want to save - stories, meta discussion, etc. - you need to log in and save
it *now*.
