I'm intrigued by it. Another view of the before-time perspective,
having to hide one's secret, having to say "goodbye" to those who've
passed on before you. Only this guy doesn't have to kill other people
in order to live, hide from sunlight, or "doctor" wine with blood. He
doesn't *not* die -- he dies and comes back to life almost
immediately, at the same apparent age, with all his memories intact.
And oh, there's the sexual tension with the recently-widowed female
detective, and the relationship with the appears-older-than-him adopted son...
But immortality, a detective, and a coroner are about the only
similarities between the two series.
