(And that's assuming you don't know any vampire MDs" I have a sudden vision of Natalie, after being talked into this by Nick, dealing with a suspicious supply officer who has recognized the scientific, chemical name for Viagra on her requisition. Even with her talents that we saw when she had to produce pseudomedical excuses for Nick, I don't know how she would explain needing the stuff as a coroner. : ) McLisa, late at night and with her mind rolling downhill. <g> ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Aug 2013 16:32:51 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: Forever Knight factions Last year, if you recall, I made a whole series of icons for factions. (Factions large, factions small, mock factions, invented factions, factions still around, factions long forgotten....) Even so, looking through faction lists, I realize that there are names still unfamiliar. So... Three factions that have turned up are related to changes in the series during Season Three--things that many fans disliked. As a result, some rejected them. Names were apparently created for such fans; and these names appear on one or more faction lists. Specifically: - the *Deniers*: fans who refuse to accept Schanke's death in "Black Buddha" (and apparently based fan fiction on the premise that he survived somehow) - the *Nevermores*: fans who don't believe Janette was brought back across by Nick at the end of "The Human Factor" - the *Redecorators*: fans who hate what LaCroix did to the Raven in Season Three Anyone remember these? Were the names in usage back then, as real or mock factions? And yes: mock factions count, if the names were truly bandied about on list. I'll make icons, if it's justified. (Trying for a complete set, y'know.) Personally, I rather liked them. Not that I was glad to lose Schanke and Janette. (Perish the thought.) But I liked Tracy; and I thoroughly enjoyed the addition of new vampires to the cast. So did others, obviously. I doubt if you'd get a Vaquera to describe Season Three as "that relative who's not your favorite but they're still family." <g> If I have any regrets about Season Three, it's that they never did enough with the new vampire characters. Vachon and his crew fascinated me throughout the first half of the season. Then they more or less disappeared until the last couple of episodes, when they were suddenly killed off. If TPTB had had the will, there's so much that they *could* have done to develop them, both in relation to each other and in their interactions with the established characters. I was very disappointed by the second half of Season Three. I gather, at the time, people initially loathed Tracy--especially, I think, because she was first interpreted as a blond ditz who'd been added to the show purely for sex appeal. However, within a very few episodes, the writers (and the actor!) made her a strong, interesting character in her own right. It took fans longer to warm up to her than she deserved; but I suspect that was more a reaction to the loss of Schanke than anything. Sure, it would have been nice if TPTB had somehow managed an amalgamation of the best of old and new. However, considering the budget constraints, which were especially tight in Season Three, there's no way they'd have added new cast members without firing the old ones. As for "Silk Stalkings", I never saw it. I *think* I know what you're referring to; but I'm wondering if I've interpreted your reference right. Surely, there were similar scenes in previous episodes? Just think of the stripper at Jilly's in Season One.
