Not precisely what your thinking, but (trying not to spoil here) my
soon-to-be released FK Fic Fest contribution gives a nod to some of what
you've mentioned. I can't go into details, because it's not released for
public viewing yet. Just keep tabs on the 'Fest's releases here (Amy R. of
Bright Knight is the moderator, and the fics'll be released at a rate of
about 2 per day):

Monday was the first day of FKFicFest 2012! This year, our annual
story-exchange ficathon game is celebrating the twentieth anniversary
of FK's premiere with a week and a day of exciting new stories! Come
play with us! Laugh, cry! Read, comment!
Today, we were treated to these two tales of our favorite vampires
and civil servants:
* "Not in My City" by Deire (PG-13, gen, 3990 words) *
Characters: Vachon, Tracy, Nick, Natalie
Summary: A vampire starts leaving corpses in Toronto. Nick, Tracy,
and Vachon work to stop the perpetrator.
