Per Wikipedia, coffee goes back to the thirteenth century; coffee spread from Ethiopia to Egypt, so it might have been possible for Europeans to have tried it. Chocolate, of course, is right out, being a product of the New World and invented by the Aztecs. I seem to remember some fanfics that speculated that drinking the blood of someone who was a heavy coffee drinker could result in a caffeine high for the vampire. I'm not sure I'd want to see a hyped-up, jittery vamp!
