Subject: FortuneCity websites
You'll all be glad to hear that the new CotK faction site will have pretty
well all its files. This is thanks to Desiree, who saved a copy of it back
in 2001 She got the sound and screen captures, and I got the fan fiction,
and we both got the war files! Help was also offered by Margie Hammet and
Cousin Tok.
I've now started work on editing Mr. Happy's. I'm pretty sure I have all
the pages and pictures. However, I was unable to collect any of the sound
files or zip files. Indeed, as I recall, some of them were definitely *not*
on the site any longer.
Does anyone have of these files saved from Mr. Happy's?
(a) There were originally three .wav files with the French pronunciation
of people's names (Nicolas, LaCroix, and Janette).
(b) There were links to .zip files with sample tracks from the
soundtrack CDs. However, the actual zips were kept on AOL.
(c) There was a quiz page from which .zip files of quizzes could be
downloaded.
(d) There were some video clips on the "Computer Stuff" page.
Obviously some of these are more interesting nowadays than others. (We do,
after all, have the CDs and DVDs.) However, I'd like to add back in any
missing files we can locate.

Subject: Missing files from Mr. Happy's
Good news! I have located the zip files with the quizzes. All are safe and
sound, tucked back in the folder they belong in.
However, I find I am also missing the following:
1. Sony's Forever Knight Screen Saver. Specifically, scrnsavr.exe (for
PCs) and scrnsavr.hqx (for Macs)
2. Forever Knight font for Macs (fkfont.sit). I have the Windows font.
3. Forever Knight themes: forever.zip (by Theresa); fknight.zip and
dknight1.zip (by Becky Lee). These were actually on GeoCities sites that
had disappeared long before GeoCities closed down; so there's no way I could
have saved them. However, it's possible that someone has them on their
computer?
If it helps:
4. The missing video clips are called: fk1_avi.zip, fk2_avi.zip,
fk3_mov.zip, fk4_mov.zip, fk5_mov.zip, vachon.zip, avenging.zip, eggs.zip,
milksk.zip. Again, these were actually on AOL or GeoCities, hence lost
years ago.
5. The missing sound files with the pronunciations of people's names are
called nick.wav, lacroix.wav, and janette.wav.
