Subject: Faction icons
I've decided to make some icons/avatars/userpics (whatever name you call
them) to represent some of the factions. Only some because, over the years,
we've accumulated a lot of faction names, some of which are...less than
serious, you might say. However, between the character-based factions, the
couple factions, and the various fraction factions, we do have quite a
number of affiliations to play around with.
Once upon a time, a good many of the main factions had their own special
symbols. So, to some degree at least, I'm planning on working those in--or
at least some version of them or allusion to them.
I guess the obvious place for me to start would be with icons for the
original six factions plus the ones added for the third-season characters.
That would make a set of eight or nine.
However, who wants to be obvious, right?
So I started instead with the factions for the three Captains. I've put the
icons up on LiveJournal: http://greerwatson.livejournal.com/5616.html. Who
knows? There might be a Cohen-head or Scorpion lurking out there, or even
a.... (Okay, I honestly don't know what the individual of "Reese's Pieces"
is.) Do feel free to use them, either on LJ or a webpage, or whatever.
Userpics are for using.
There will be more. I just need to find the time and the inspiration.
I'm not taking orders. (!) However, if anyone wants to pass along
suggestions as to what to include to symbolize other factions, I'll
certainly take your ideas into account. (I'm keeping my eye out for
suitable rats and peaches and coffee pots.)
