<snip> Regarding Nunkies Anonymous and the Nunkies Scouts, isn't there a list
somewhere of the merit badges we could earn? <snip>

Fortunately http://www.foreverknight.org/ saved a lot of info from sites that
used to be on Geocities, like the NunkAnon pages. I've also been hunting around
- I'd made a CD copy years ago of my archived emails and graphics, but that was
4 computers and 2 houses ago. I wish I could find that stuff to help jog my
memory. :)

Anyway, the list of Nunkies Scout Badges was:
Addict Fitness
Addict Safety
Alien Abduction
Anti-Nunklear Device Safety
Ballooning Fun
Beer Bottle Wielding
Bondage
Camel
Cayman Islands
Charioteer
Cheesy Rationalization
Cookie
Cruel and Unusual Taunting
Dragon Appreciation
Drool
Duct Tape
Evil Dead
Fanfic Fairy
Fantasy
Filking
French
Glazed and Smouldering Looks
Grout Duty
Hellish Alchemy
High Speed Chase
Ink/can Lore
Kidnapping
Latin
Legionnaire
Lurker
The MacBadge
Marmite
Math Fun
Mountie Love
Music Appreciation
Naughty
Netiquette
Nonsensible Shoes
Nunklear Physics
Nunku
Perky
Permanent Record
Pinata
Poker Queen
Pool Shark
Ratpacker Oppresshun
Roman Candle
Running Joke
Screedspeak
Shiney Pretty
Shopping
Shrinekeeping
Slacker
Sneaky
Spanish
Stalking
Strawberry
That Other Guy
Toga
Torment Louis
Tree
Velociraptor Awareness
Volcano
Volkswagen
War
Water Fun

I don't even remember how we came up with all this Nunkies Scouts stuff. Lots
of them are fandom jokes, of course, or things from the faction fanfic. I do
remember going to a flea market and picking up an old Girl Scout manual for a
dollar, and using that as a source guide, but I don't remember if that was
before or after we came up with the Scouts.

The NA produced buttons, too---on the "Evil Plan" outing to New
Orleans, I acquired these buttons:

"Look! A dinosaur!" (shows a sprinting velociraptor)
"Not-so Vestal Virgin"
"Tottooed Desert Dude Appreciation Society" (shows heiroglyphs and one
of the tomb robbers who woke up Divia)
"Nunkies Anonymous: Patiricians Wanted" (showing LC moodily sniffing a
white rose)

For sheer creative writing and humor, you just couldn't beat the NA!

OMG! I remember making those! Lots of 'LaCroix For President' buttons too @ the
year 2000.
I think I just sent them to anyone who wanted some.

<snip> "Tattooed Desert Dude Appreciation Society" (shows heiroglyphs and one

That was a screenshot of Oded Fehr from 'The Mummy' and 'The Mummy Returns.' I
remember a lot of NunkAnon ppl thought he was hot, especially Third Cousin Patt.
I think that's how we worked Tattooed Desert Dude into the fanfic - something to
do with Divia.

I still have a souvenir bag of buckeyes from that voodoo priestess. Every time I
see it I remember the description of us trapped at the voodoo shop tour from the
quote list: "There we were, like Tracy in 'Last Knight,' sliding down the wall."

I also seem to remember the more we drank at O'Brian's, the more people said
lustful things about Schanke. In vino veritas. <eg>

I remember that alien abduction was because that was how we wrote NA member KC
Susan's exit out of a war. It was a joke referring to how they explained Gillian
Anderson's absence on the X files early in the series.

I think we took suggestions and you used the best ones as badges. Nick was That
Other Guy. Ink/can lore was based on something having to do with Vachon's
Vampire brother The Inca, Slacker, rat pack Oppreshion and Screed Speek was
based partially on the fact that there were quite a few vaqueras and rat
packers (even though it was supposed to be a Cousins faction. )

"Look, a dinosaur" OMG!!! I had forgotten about that!!! I even had one of
those pins!!!

And as for "That Other Guy"... I got to go to a Gerthering once and I had
an FK hat created with the FK logo on the front and "That Other Guy" on the
back and gave it to Ger!!! I had a bunch of those hats made up. Nancy, didn't
yours say something like "Stallion Chew Toy" on the back???

Rae
Javiette@a.......

By the way, it was so cool to see Ger at one of the last LCA's!!!

I have one of those, too! All the buttons are in a little box in my
desk at home, next to the pet brick that Jean Graham made and sold for
charity.

Oh, yes! The quote list was great, and captures the flavor of the Evil
Plan weekend perfectly.

Indeed. I seem to remember many Evil Planners decided that the perfect
tryst was with Nick, while LC whispered in your ear, and Schanke
cooked dinner naked. Yes, we had been drinking, why do you ask? <g>

I also remember that people at another table told us our behavior was
offensive. If you can tick off people with your behavior in New
Orleans, you're really having a good time!

Yes, Rae, and I still have it! (Short explanation--at the time I owned
a stallion, and he injured one of his legs so he was on stall rest for
a month. I hand-walked daily him to let him get out in a controlled
way. He was so bored, poor boy, that he started playing with me by
dancing around and nipping me instead of walking sedately like he was
supposed to. I mentioned to Rae that I had become his chew toy, and a
hat was born!)

I may be thinking of the same weekend but don't think so.

I was a guest at a con near New Orleans along with Nigel and PN Elrod. At the
time they were taking guests for a brief tour of New Orleans, I was in a
panel and the promised "special solo visit" never materialized so I was a
little upset. I went to New Orleans and only saw the hotel!

Anyway, a group of FK fans went into the city and started working on a piece
of Fan Fic for me. As I recall later being told, they were actually asked
to LEAVE the bar!

There was also an NunkAnon Yahoo! group. One thing I remember from
that group was a fiction character worksheet. In addition to
submitting my own, Nicolas de Bearbant (aka "The Vampbear") was
encouraged to respond... The questionnaire was a great starting point
to develop one's own "War-universe Self", so I'm going to give it a
quick paste here, with a couple of annotations because of how
technology has evolved since this was posted in 2001:

>1) What's your favorite type of cereal?
>2) Shoes: Sensible or non-sensible?
>3) LaCroix: Evil or misunderstood?
>4) Do you have any phobias?

Note: Any phobia you list can and will be used against you in a War
story... but remember, it's all in fun!

>5) List your three favorite albums/CDs.

Does anyone other than me buy CDs any more, rather than buying
individual songs off iTunes?

>6) Name a musician/musical group whose popularity annoys you.

Again, this can and will be used against you in a War story.

>7) Nick: Angsty or misunderstood?
>8) Name your favorite movie.
>9) Name your favorite civilization(current or historic).
>10) Do you have Marmite in your refrigerator/pantry?
>11) Has that jar of Marmite been there for more than a year?

I don't remember what started the Marmite thing. Then again, I wasn't
in Nunkies Anonymous (though they seemed to have the most fun as a faction)...

>12) Natalie: Bitchy or misunderstood?
>13) Do you have Ribena in your refrigerator/pantry?
>14) Has that bottle of Ribena been there for more than a year?

For newcomers, Ribena syrup was used as a substitute for liquid
blood. In concentrated form, it is said to be unpalatable to the
point of inducing vomit.

>15) Handcuffs or rope?
>16) Name your Personal Tranquility Device of choice.

Ah, yes... the ways Nunkies Anonymous members tried to relax between
bouts of Grout Duty (cleaning the mosaic of Lacroix at the bottom of
the sacred swimming pool, or something like that)

>17) Vachon: Slacker or misunderstood?
>18) If you had your own personal Fanfic Fairy, what would you name it?

This was before the Mercs organized the Fanfic Fairies...

>19) List your top three FK faction leanings.
>20) Describe your dream car.
>21) Describe your actual car.
>22) Tracy: Perky or misunderstood?
>23) Name your three favorite TV shows other than FK.
>24) What color is your hair?
>25) What color are your eyes?
>26) How tall are you?

Of course some basic physical statistics are needed to write you in
recognizably... or so we could recognize each other at get-togethers.

>27) Sidney: Hungry or misunderstood?
>28) Do you have tattoos or other distinguishing features?
>29) Have you ever played a marching band instrument?
>30) Name your favorite author.
>31) Do you have any funky habits? (Ex. Snoring, cork fetish, nail
>biting, buzz phrases)

Again, this will be used against you in a War.

>32) Schanke: Ghost or misunderstood?
>33) Name an 11-letter word that starts with 'C.'
>34) List your three favorite foods.
>35) List your three most disgusting foods.
>36) Do you now, or have you ever, worn Birkenstocks?

The absolute opposite of most Nunkies Anonymous members' "non-sensible shoes".

>37) Russell Crowe: Troublemaker or misunderstood?

FWIW, I still don't get the whole Russell Crowe thing.

>38) Do you scuba, swim or snorkel?
>39) Do you prefer to travel by plane, train, boat, automobile or spaceship?
>40) Do you carry a phone on you?

In today's times, I'd ask "What sort of phone do you carry with
you?", expecting answers such as flip phone, text phone, Android, or
iPhone. It might also be useful to know how you do, or don't, use
social networking sites such as Facebook, if and where you blog, and
if you tweet.

>41) What are your three least favorite TV shows?
>42) Janette: Mortal or misunderstood?
>43) Would you, could you, karaoke?
>44) Name your favorite adult beverage.
>45) Do you have a motto or theme song?
>46) Describe your occupation.
>47) Any parting words?

And once again, let me reiterate: anything you answer can and will
be used against you in a War post or thread.

Subject: Ribena

Just thought I'd make sure, after Greer mentioned that Ribena's cloying when
the syrup is taken full strength, that we all know Ger's story. Ribena syrup
was used for blood in the first season, at least in the Raven scenes. He
told an interviewer that while filming Feeding the Beast, he had to keep
tossing back shots of the stuff. He then had to struggle not to show the
nausea on camera. When we went back to the scene with Janette in the Raven,
we could see where he used the sick feeling in portraying Nick's bitter and
drunken state.
