Hello again ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 28 Nov 2010 22:02:10 -0800 From: Janice Cox <janicecox1@l.......> Subject: Re: Hello again Hi Angela, I remember you. :-) Yes, it's fun to go back and watch the episodes after a long hiatus. I pulled out my DVDs to research an FK fan fic that had been in progress for (eep!) almost ten years and was totally immersed all over again. Like you, I was relieved to see how well they've stood the test of time. The special effects that were (IMHO) pretty darned cheesy back then look even cheesier now, but FK was never about the special effects. I started with Be My Valentine because it ties into my current fic <plug> Now available on FanFiction.net! </plug>, but I think I'm going to go back and start all over with the Rick Springfield pilot and relive 'em all over again. One thing I was pleased to see is that all three seasons are now available on services like Netflix and Hulu. Maybe when younger fans grow tired of the current crop of vampire shows they'll stumble across this old classic growing digital dust on the shelf. Has anyone noticed an increase in activity on any of the FK boards? Just curious. In another fandom (Buffy the Vampire Slayer; do I detect a pattern here?) I've had a lot of fun rewatching old episodes while in a chatroom with others watching the same ep. Any interest out there in giving it a try? It's almost like being in the room with fellow fans, whether you're drooling over Uncle or MST3K-ing a particularly silly bit of dialogue. *sigh* And now it's almost Monday.
