Now the movies on the cable-tv channel (where this was just shown)
seems to be more family oriented or "meaningful" movies, but I'd tend
to agree they aren't on the same level as the old
Hallmark Hall of Fame was.

.>>CD was once again the busybody mayor's wife that you're supposed to hate<<

Except that the character CD portrayed wasn't someone you were
supposed to hate this time, she was shown much more sympathetically, imo.

 >>I didn't realize it was a recurring role.<<
I'm now wondering if the three made for tv movies (with the addition
of this one) are supposed to be a trilogy. The first one showing the
meeting of the main characters, the second one showing a few more
complications, and this last one culminating in their wedding.

I really liked the first one of the movies, the second one was so-so
and seemed a bit contrived in plot. This last one did seem a bit too
saccharine sweet - but then again it WAS all about a wedding so
perhaps it can be forgiven for that.

It was *interesting* to see CD playing the role of the "bad guy" in
the first movie. As her character was the self-important decider of
what and who were good enough for their community etc (and someone
with faint hints of being a witch as the main character had clearly
wasn't, in her opinion).

In the second movie, CD again was in that snooty role and was also
shown to have bad judgement since she clearly preferred someone who
was trying to cheat the main character out of her family inheritance.

However, in this last movie, the role CD played has evolved a bit and
she wasn't hostile to the main character any longer. So while the
character CD was playing was more sympathetic, it reduced the
conflict in the movie so that it actually made for a too sweet,
flimsy plot. :(

Even so, I *am* happy that they showed a wedding of the main
characters, but it makes me think that perhaps this is the end of
that series of movies... making it a trilogy.

How could I have forgotten Who Wants to Live Forever! The Queen
version is, of course the classic, but I wonder if Sarah Brightman's
version - or maybe Gregorian's - wouldn't sound better to our
Renaissance couple.

Another one I forgot, and no one mentioned, is Dust in the Wind by
Kansas. (With a nod to Highlander fans - any Tessa flag wavers out
there?)

On Queen's "A Kind of Magic" CD, there is an instrumental version of this that
is absolutely beautiful!
