Here's my answer. By all means mention her. Permission slips are only needed for real people as characters. Besides, PSU is afraid of getting sued and Susan, alas, can no longer do that. Being a character means that the real person is shown interacting in a story. Just mentioning someone in passing isn't making him/her a character and can't get PSU sued. Oh how, I wish Susan was still here and able to sue us, which of course she'd never have done. Sandra was putting fresh tapes into the surveillance gear, when she noticed that the monitors for the Loft all showed no picture. Afraid that it was an attack, she phoned Katrinka, who was downstairs in the Loft. Kat assured her that she was fine and everything was fine, all the while knowing that it had been she, the Bunny Knightie, who had disabled the cameras so that she could cook without being filmed. When Sandra finished her task in the Ham Shack, she couldn't open the door back into the Loft. Kat had barricaded that also, so her cooking would be undiscovered. With much trepidation, Sandra used the fire escape to climb down the building. Once back in the Loft through the front door, she checked the cameras and rooftop access door only to find them all in perfect working condition. ------------ Title: "Knight Viewing" Author: Knightie Sandra Faction: Knighties Date: Monday, October 11, 2010 Time: late evening Disclaimers: All Knighties used with permission. The Thanksgiving dinner party goers returned to the Loft. Sandra told Knightie co-leader Nat, that there was something odd about the surveillance gear. When they went up to the roof shack, everything seemed to be in perfect working order. Then Sandra told Nat about her idea that each time some clothing had gone missing, the surveillance tapes only showed snow. Could these pictures be enhanced? Mari, the resident computer expert, ran a program that took one of the tapes and cleaned up the image enough that the Knighties thought they saw a burst of light, a shiny, swirly hole, and then the partial image of a white rat. Could it be Screed doing all these thefts? ------------- Title: "Even Bunnies Can Cook" Author: Knightie Katrinka Time: After "Viewing The Situation" Bunny Katrinka was pondering, on the couch. She pondered over her guilt about cooking when she had been told not to, and she pondered about her missing friend, Eowyn. Then some Knighties found the Rene boxes filled with her cupcakes and cookies. They dug in when they saw the treats and...the LOVED them! Katrinka was so glad that she could cook some good stuff for the Knighties. If only they knew it had been her. -------------- Title: "Conquer-Exploit-Ransack-Kill" Author: Eowyn Faction: Knighties Date: Monday Time: after "Two Cousins and a Pirate" All participants used with permission. Dread Pirate Queen Eowyn (DPQ Eowyn to the lists) entered the C.E.R.K. lobby. She thought it was a strange place for pirates. She looked around for the pirate booty that had been spoken about earlier by Cousins Brandi and Rhonda. She spied the Cousinly Receptionists being very protective of her multo-colored Post-It(R) notes. Resolved that that was the booty, DPQ Eowyn sulked over to the receptionists desk and grabbed as many Post-Its(R) as she could. Then she retired to a nearby couch and began to sing. Loudly and off-key. The songs went on and on and on and on until even her best mates couldn't sing anymore. --------------- Title: "A Pirate's Raid" Author: Eowyn Faction: Knighties Date: Monday Time: evening, before "Dinner at the Die Hards" All participants used with permission. The Cousins Rhonda and Brandi needed to stop the singing, so they enlisted DPQ Eowyn to go out on a very special pirate mission. Dubbing the NNPack HQs theater as the Royal Navy HQs, they instructed the DPQ Eowyn to remove all Nick and Nat pictures, to make the NNP'ers change into togas, and then to listen to endless Nightcrawler monologues. Once the DPQ Eowyn had completed her mission successfully, she vanished into the night, but not before accidentally knocking her fake parrot off of her shoulder. The one that had an Annoy-a-Tron hidden inside. --------------- Title: A Little Knightie Shopping Author: Knighties Sandra and Brooksie Faction: Knighties Date: Tuesday, October 12, 2010 Time: morning Disclaimers: All Knighties used with permission. Brooksie and Gemsong both wake to find that their clothes had gone missing overnight. Nat realizes that another shopping trip is in order. The Knighties also realize that the DPQ Eowyn hasn't been seen since Monday morning. Seeing opportunity there, Nat takes the Caddy and Sandra, Brooksie and Gemsong shopping, and on a hunt for the missing DPQ Eowyn. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2010 08:32:08 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: WAR: Die-Hards: Summary for October 10th WAR: Die-Hards: Summary for October 10th 1) Title: In the Night Kitchen Author: Greer Watson Time: October 10th, wee hours Vampire or no, Ron bakes pecan pie for the party. 2) Title: Party Prep (Part One) Author: Greer Watson Time: October 10th (after "In the Night Kitchen") Greer and Chanda spend the morning baking for the party. Greer then goes home to do gardening and watch TV; but Chanda works hard all afternoon. Meanwhile, Don goes to the Eaton Centre to buy replacement clothes for Ron, and Teresa continues to search the museum. Everyone is delighted when she finally discovers a copy of the protective spell. The others decide that they must immediately perform it. However, it requires violet chalk, so they go off to find a store that sells it. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2010 08:36:30 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: WAR: Die-Hards: Summary for October 11th WAR: Die-Hards: Summary for October 11th 1) Title: Party Prep (Part Two) Author: Greer Watson Time: October 10th Greer falls asleep over TV; but she wakes in time to arrives back at the HQ in the wee hours, just as Ron returns with the violet chalk. They perform the spell. The question then is: what will they do next? Don tells the others that the only right thing to do is give the spell to the other factions; but he is persuaded that it might be risky to do that without testing whether it really works. Although Chanda is not happy about leaving Janette's new clothes unprotected, Don decides that he will hold off telling people until Thanksgiving dinner. The rest of Monday is spent in cooking the meal. 2) Title: Dinner at the Die-Hards' (Part One) Author: Greer Watson Time: October 11th, early evening (after "Party Prep") The guests arrive: members of the NNatPack, Cousins, Vaqueras, RatPackers (Libratsie), Mercenaries, and Knighties. Many of them bring with them food for Thanksgiving dinner. Fortunately, among other things, the Knighties bring a bowl of cranberry sauce, for the Die-Hards' sauce had been scorched by Teresa. Besides the faction members, there are also a couple of small dogs, and all Libratsie's ratsies--so Don insists that Chanda lock her cats in her bedroom. McLisa brings a stuffed toy turkey, which she calls the guest of honour. 3) Title: Dinner at the Die-Hards' (Part Two) Author: Greer Watson Time: October 11th, evening Dinner is served. The faction members eat in the dining room; but portions of turkey are served to the dogs, and a cheese board is put out for the ratsies. With all the food that was baked and/or brought, there is plenty of pie for everyone. Don tells Chanda that he will make his "Grand Announcement" (about the discovery of the spell) at the end of the meal, and is overheard by two of the guests. However, his revelation is pre-empted by Knightie Nat, who apologizes to everyone for the accidental pizza attack. 4) Title: Dinner at the Die-Hards' (Part Three) Author: Greer Watson Time: October 11th, evening After dinner, people chat, watch TV, and continue to stuff themselves. Don decides that he will wait to tell people about the spell until after they've finished watching "Dark Knight". However, someone decides to pick the lock on Chanda's door, thus letting out her cats. They chase the ratsies; the dogs chase them--and, when they are all caught, everyone decides it is a good time to go home. It is not until after everything has been cleaned up and people have gone to bed that Don realizes that he never did get to tell the other factions about the spell of protection. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2010 13:47:53 +0000 From: Susan Bennett <nnpacker@h.......> Subject: WAR: NNPack Summary - Mon, Oct. 11 A Nick&Natless Theatre is a Cold, Cold, Place (1/1) Date: Mon. Oct. 11 - Late Evening - - - - - Soul and the rest of the NNers who attended the Diehards' Thanksgiving dinner arrive back at the theatre to find the front door unlocked and all the Nick&Nat photos missing from their walls. They find the 5 NNers who stayed home sitting around the kitchen table, looking miserable and dressed in togas. Soul demands an explanation and is given the note left by the Cousins. Casey shows Shoul the chirping parrot that Knightie Dread Pirate Queen Eowyn left behind. Soul is shocked that one Knightie managed to foil the NNers. Paula states that Eowyn is unstable, and that the Cousins used her. The victims explain the course of events. Soul blames Susan for the lax security and orders her to wear the toga for the duration of the war. She orders Casey to print off new photos. Soul discovers the parrot is actually the property of the Mercs' costume shop and sends Paula off to take it to the Prop Room. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2010 16:01:06 +0000 From: Susan Bennett <nnpacker@h.......> Subject: WAR: NNPack Summary - Tues Oct. 12 NNPack Summary - Tues Oct. 12 The Morning After (1/1) Date: Tuesday Oct. 12 - Early-Morning - - - - - Paula and Mel are the latest victims of the clothes thief, and explain that even the clothes others lent them has disappeared. Laila is the only one who has not been victimized. Mel and Paula ask for some of the clothes back that they lent others. Susan is in anguish, being forced to continue wearing the toga. Soul reflects on the feast at the Diehards and on a dream she had where the NNP are dressed in food. Laila frets over the effect the attack might have on watching one of the Pack's favourite movies, The Princess Bride. With all their Nick&Nat photos gone, the Pack only has their tapestry to look at, but the theatre curtains have to be closed for that. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2010 16:05:43 +0000 From: Susan Bennett <nnpacker@h.......> Subject: WAR: NNPack Summary - Wed. Oct. 13 NNPack Summary - October 13 The Last Decent Threads Disappear (1/1) Date: Wednesday Oct. 13 - Morning - - - - - Laila, the NNer with the most and the best clothes, is the latest and last of the clothes' thief's NNP victims. Paula runs off to comfort her. Susan, claiming her toga is an apron, makes a batch of dog biscuits with the help of Soul and Mel. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Oct 2010 14:55:33 -0400 From: Greer Watson <gwatson2@r.......> Subject: WAR: Going to the M.E.T. I'm going to be writing a story (which won't get posted till Saturday night) in which I go to the M.E.T. show in Toronto, which starts that day. (In fact, I'll be going that afternoon, which is why the story won't get posted till that evening). Don is going; but I don't get the impression any of the other Die-Hards is interested; so I'd like to know whether--since the war will be basically over by then--there are any people from other factions who would like to go? The M.E.T. show is the annual show/sale of the Miniature Enthusiasts of Toronto (http://met.miniature.net/met_show_current.html). This is basically dolls' house stuff, mostly 1:12 scale; but there will certainly be materials that other crafters might be interested in: material with small-print designs and notions for the doll/teddy collector; model-building supplies; that sort of thing. Naturally, there will have to be a certain FKishness about it all: finding a doll that looks like Nick/LaCroix/etc., buying materials to build a model of the loft/Raven/station, spotting a miniature that looks just like a tiny [fill with prop of choice], or whatever.... If you are interested, get back to me (not Don), with any relevant info. In particular, what you'll be looking for and what you'll find, so I can write the post the way you like.
