I die giggling when I see them in the show. Makes me laugh though I still have one of those clunky monitors myself > I don't think FK would have the charm it does if it were made today though. It was campy, serious, but cheeky too. Timeless. > Absolutely! Perriott and GWD discuss what FK would be like today in the commentary on one of the DVDs (which were done around 2003). They said that basically, the current styles called for shorter scenes, flashier cross-cuts, more snap, snap, snap. All this sounds like a lot of "modern" shows are more updated MTV videos than storytelling. FK did storytelling, and most remarkably, it often told 3 stories simultaneously (current mystery, flashback, and a personal story). Walt Doherty wdoherty5@c....... I also picked up a copy of a collection os Tonya Huff's short stories collected into one volume. In it, she tells about writing one of the scripts for the TV series, the changes it went through for the first few drafts, and she includes a transcript of what was the final version for her, with the suggestion that one could read it and then compare it with what showed up on the screen. I can't imagine that FK would have been any differeent. For one thing, Huff indicates that while she was writing in one location, the actual filming was being done someplace else. Perriott says in the DVD interviews that while the filming was done in Toronto, the rushes were sent to LA and the editing was done there. (This is probably responsible for a lot of the Americanisms in the stories as opposed to Canadianism -- e.g. Precinct vs. Divsion, etc.) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Jan 2010 21:23:34 -0500 From: Ramona Jackson <lexyladyjax@g.......> Subject: Re: Blood Money Subject: Re: Blood Money - Pullchuck? > > FWIW the closed captioning spelling is Polchuck.
