This site has links for transcripts of many of the episodes:

http://www.fkfanfic.com/fkscripts/fktrans.htm

I seem to remember seeing another site with scripts
on it too. And there always seem to be a few different
scripts available on E-Bay. I can't guarantee to
accuracy of any of these, but there they are if you
want to check them out.

Even today, I think the touchy-feely part of the
vampire video game may be something that won't
be along for a while, but considering that this
episode was done in '95/'96, it seems almost
prophetic in its description of what video games
can do. In other words, this episode was ahead
of its times, and if it were to be presented today
could be considered contemporary with 2010
rather than as something 14 or 15 years old.

Also, they did use cell phones in FK, although
they were the bigger, clunkier types. Even so,
they were often turned away from the camera
so you usually didn't get a good look at them
which allows one to imagine that this is contemporary
as well.

And, finally, many of the episodes were filmed
and shown in a way that they were not fixed in
time, or linked to a specific actual event so that
an episode could be dated.

I wonder if this was planned deliberately. The
series has a timeliness that's unusual. Compare
this with Dark Shadows which looks so dated.
"Dead of Night" could have been filmed
last year.

Actually, the hair and clothes are very dated. I laugh when I see Nat's hair
and shoulder pads, and Nick's clothes. All of the hair and clothes on even
the guest actors. And, Nick's loft--the TV and furniture. Also, on the
streets--the automobiles.

One thing that, for me, has long been a tell-tell sign of the times in FK is the
antiquated computers. Even the most cash-strapped department would have more
modern technology than that today.

I guess I'm not that fashion conscious.
The cars are a tip-off, of course, but it's not as bad as
in the 50's and 60's when the auto companies introduced
new models every single year.

Re: the TV in the loft - doesn't Nick have a giant screen
TV? Natually, it's not a flat screen, and the back of it is
probably the size of a small apartment, but the never show
the back of it.

I would expect the furniture and stuff to be somewhat
dated -- Nick doesn't seem that fashion or furniture
conscious either, although unlike us who might keep
a couch or over-stuffed armchair for a couple of
decades 'cause we like it, he would be keeping things
a couple of centuries. And, admittedly, a Louis V
chair would look sort of out of place. :-)

And that black shisrt Nick has, the one with the
wriggly white strips down the front is sooooooo
retro that it may just be in fashion again.

AND, the computers, good grief, that's the absolute
truth -- how did I miss that. Does anyplace have
CRT tubes rather than flat screens anymore?

All good points though.

:-)

Remember that Nick has had a chance to accumulate a lot of stuff over
the years. If I had antiques I wouldn't want new stuff.

I live in a house over 130 years old. As far as I am concerned, new
stuff doesn't belong in the house. All the furniture is antique. I
have a dining room set, bedroom set and desk that were bought in 1917.
(I still have the bill of sale for it). I have some more furniture made
in the 30's. I have one chair that is pre civil war.

I have some prints of flowers that were made in 1836.

I have ONE flat screen monitor for my computers. I have 8 desktops and
the rest of them have the old style monitors. I can't afford to buy new
monitors for all of them

I have a 42 in plasma screen tv ONLY because my daughter gave it to me.
I have an iPhone ONLY because my daughter gave it to me. (and she pays
the bill)

And I wouldn't mind having the 62 caddy. <gr>

And talk about retro. I made a simple pull over dress in 1970 that my
daughter still wears.

As far as I am concerned, today, anything goes.

My old bookstore I worked at does have them still. But oh good lawd! I remember
watching the first episode and thinking "Wow... those computers are OOOLD" And
the cellphones... I die giggling when I see them in the show. Makes me laugh
though I still have one of those clunky monitors myself

I don't think FK would have the charm it does if it were made today though. It
was campy, serious, but cheeky too. Timeless.

Just my two cents. :)

Thanks for the information! Before the DVD releases I tried to hunt them for
better understanding what is going on. But thinking about my favorite episodes
perhaps I will to try catch some scripts to see how it was written. Sometimes I
think that the script writers had their own vision about the characters and
then the actual filming made something different with small nuances that made
big differences regarding the original plot.

Yes, I think, this is a very good point. A vampire who has lived long is more
keen to keep things around that he/she likes and not changing things every
year. Something what I think interesting in this episode is it's way to see
virtual reality. Imagine that You could just walk inside another world and be
somebody else. And the game what Nick is playing is not linear, it is reacting
and changing according to Nick's actions and achievements.

When I did see this episode for the first time, I though how different the
season 3 was regarding the first season. More serious and there was a certain
lack of youthfulness. Perhaps the latter was a heritage from the 89-pilot, but
I liked it. Anyway now I am accustomed to it's different atmosphere and the
last season has many good episodes. Something that I don't like is when they
started to kill main characters so usually I don't watch those episodes.
