Subject: Knight and Day I saw an advanced trailer for an upcoming movie starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz called "Knight and Day". If FK were still being made today I could see Schanke having a field day with this. Especially if the movie ends up being as bad as it looks. Actually Schanke would probably like it While on the topic of movies, how do you think the FK characters would feel about the many recent vampire movies and TV shows? I can imagine LaCroix having a field day with what happens to the Twilight vamps in daylight. "I am much too old and powerful to twinkle." I wanted to check in and make sure those of you in the extended DC metro area are ok and those north of here are getting prepared. The FAA has just closed Reagan National airport and there are near-whiteout conditions in DC. The road crews have been out plowing and salting but really are having trouble keeping up with the heavy snow and blowing wind. PLEASE don't drive in this storm. I live right on a major urban street and can see stuck busses and cars under my window, but I can't see anything more than a block away. The only one moving easily outside is a guy with snowshoes. There's a great story on the news of a guy from Moscow who decided he could handle driving to Florida because this is normal weather for him. He drove a few blocks, got stuck, and had to be towed. And even if you are a winter pro, you are sharing the road with folks who aren't. I lived in Chicago for years and can handle myself in blizzards, and I might not even go outside to look around for a few hours yet. I can definitely sympathize with Schanke looking up to the sky and screaming, but it's just breathtakingly beautiful from inside my warm home. Love you guys. Please be safe. I too want to express empathy with those in the DC area and everywhere else affected by the storm. Laila is absolutely right -- please, please stay off the roads if you possibly can, and if you have to drive, do it very carefully. Love, McLisa listowner, Forkni-l mclisa@m....... >Love you guys. I'm hoping the winds will subside a bit before dark so that I can go out and shovel the drive and walkway. And I recall Schanke hating the cold weather. I can relate ... the snow certainly IS beautiful, but it creates a host of problems. Hoping everyone is safe and warm! :) Boomer --- On Sat, 12/19/09, muselaw <muselaw@e.......> wrote: Hi Forkni friends.
