Vachon's church has been deconsecrated so to Vachon it's like any other building. As for Nick reading the bible, heck, he probably has it on CD from Audible. He could just lie back on his sofa and listen to it being read! > The demon. He thrives on Nick's torn nature and suffers the > rejection. Lacroix isn't in conflict with himself. I agree. Lacroix is perfectly happy with his state---and Nick's. Wasn't it in Dark Knight that Janette mentioned the attraction of Nick's mixture of good and evil, warring within himself? If not, it could have been a church of one of the denominations that don't consecrate. Their buildings are dedicated instead of consecrated -- a considerable difference in theology and in the ceremony. Between services, the sanctuary is simply an empty auditorium, as opposed to the denominations where it's a sacred space that contains sacred objects. Please don't anyone take this as being disrespectful of such denominations. I grew up in one before joining one that does have traditional ceremonies and does consecrate.
