I just rec'd an on line survey from Nielsen since I am a member of the Nielsen Rating Family. They wanted my opinion on several Showtime shows. At the end of the survey, they asked me to name my top three shows. Needless to say I told them: 1. Forever Knight, first season 2. Forever Knight, second season 3. Forever Knight, third season. Hey...you never know what will work. KnightWitch ;-]= CaddyWhacker, first and foremost. AND NOW I CAN PROVE IT!!!!!!!! We need your help. Please go to _www.ForeverKnight.US/chiller.html_ (http://www.foreverknight.us/chiller.html) and sign the petition to get FK on the Chiller Channel. Thanks!!!! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Aug 2009 06:48:33 -0700 From: Laurie of the Isles <laudon1228@y.......> Subject: PRAYER: Thank you I head down to Scotsdale in a couple of hours. I just wanted to thank everybody for your good wishes. I was saying to a friend in an email just now, that isn't it amazing with modern communications, that we can have people people we've never met face to face, some of whom are half world away, thinking of us and wishing us well? I love my FK family. Laurie of the Isles Laudon1228@y....... http://1-mad-squirrel.livejournal.com/ "Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers." Harry S. FK was mention in several spots, as well as Dark Shadow (both new and old), Bloodties, and Moonlight. The primary focus of the article was when did the vampire become the romantic good-guy in fangs versus the blood-sucking walking corpse in the night. Check plaindealer.com to see if there is an online version of the article. If there isn't, I can retype and post here for all to enjoy. Subject: Re: Neilsen ratings With all respect (and you did give me quite a laugh!), perhaps instead of name calling, we should educate people who may not be aware of or who have forgotten about 'Forever Knight.' A few well thought out, reasonable, friendly letters to Entertainment Weekly might bring some publicity to the show. Vampires go in and out of fashion. With the current craze, I've mentioned FK to a number of vampire fans, most of whom didn't remember the show and said they'd be sure to get the DVDs at least through Netflix. Others remembered the show well and were delighted to find out they could purchase the DVDs. Not everyone is going to love FK as tastes vary, but what an opportunity to share the show with people! ;-D When I've actually been able to show a few episodes to potential fans, I like to start with 'Be My Valentine' (hope I got that episode name right!) and 'Fever.' -Libs **Ratpacker and proud of it** --- On Wed, 8/5/09, Lyn Palmer <wizkid2u@b.......> wrote: Especially since Entertainment Weekly's latest issue features "20 Greatest Vampires of All Time"....with NO mention of our favorite vamps. Indigo/Chapters doesn't carry them at all, and the local stores I've been to only have seasons one and three, if they have them at all (usually they don't). Not only that, but the seasons are relatively expensive at $79.99. Compare that with Highlander at $68 or Stargate at $59 (or even on sale for $20, which I'm seeing a lot of now). Subject: Re: Neilsen ratings For those in the US (and maybe Canada), they are available on-line at: Amazon Barnes & Noble.com Overstock.com deepdiscountdvd for under $50, sometimes much less if used. I just double checked. I didn't see them anywhere for $79.99 (in the us). Those in the US also have access to such mail rental places such as Netflix. I joined Netflix out of the frustration of not being able to rent tv shows at local vhs/dvd rental stores. When I did find complete series, it'd have been cheaper to buy complete seasons at Walmart! Speaking of, for those of you in areas which have libraries with a good DVD selection, why not recommend they look into getting Forever Knight due to the vampire craze? Then just to make sure they do get checked out, check them out yourselves even if you have the set<g> I got one of Greg Kramer's novels into a local library by just dropping a note recommending it into asuggestion box. --Libs --- On Wed, 8/5/09, Elena Gwynne <elena_gwynne@h.......> wrote: Not only that, but the seasons are relatively expensive at $79.99. I think my chief source of irritation with the article was the fact that I was so obviously NOT the chosen demographic! There was not even a single mention of Frank Langella's Dracula, who started the whole thing for me.... Lots of the HBO vamps, and the sparkly vamps, pleased to see a lot of recent fiction, but....to pick "Let the Right One In" or " Daughters of Darkness", some really obscure seventies movies and neglect a tv show that was on for three seasons....well, that just smacked of somebody doing a google search so that they could write an article. But I shall rise above it....! By the bye, anyone catch James Parriott's new show, Defying Gravity? He's got such a knack for taking characters and letting you see the human side of a hero... =================== "Experience: that most brutal of teachers.
