Whilst I'm sitting here at work and trying to do twenty things at once, I thought I'd poke my head in and wave to everyone. Sometimes hard to imagine this silly old thing is still here over 16 years later, but that's mostly down to everyone here: McLisa as the listowner, Don Fasig as our list gardener, Bill Verity as our silent partner at Penn State keeping us on the same home we've had the whole time, our past listowners Laurie and Jamie, and most especially all of you fellow fans who hung in there, treated each other with respect, and kept the fandom alive in all of your own special ways. I'll be making an appearance once again at Dragon*Con this year (as always). By 'appearance', I mean, 'show up, listen to music, hang out with friends, and take pictures', although it would amuse the heck out of me to make an official appearance... If anyone else is going, let me know and we'll see about an actual gathering! And I'm putting my hand up, too. Hi, everyone! I simply can't believe I've been on this list for what, 14 year? 15 years? FK is still my first TV love---oh, I follow other series like Lost, but I have no desire to look at fanfic or anything like that. All other fanfic is just mostly bad writing to me. <g> And speaking of fanfic, I still toss around ideas for short stories---in fact, still have about four in the "in process" hamper. I might even finish one if I can ever quit taking contract editing jobs that I have to work on in the evenings. And you know what? Those editing jobs go faster if I listen to the FK sound tracks. Perfect for correcting bad grammar and muddled thoughts! I'm in contact with some other long-time members, but who aren't subbed anymore (as far as I know)---Kathy Whelton, Cindy Ingram, and Julia Kocich. And I go on vacations with Mary Chamberlain, who shares my passion for hiking, photography, and horses. This list has let me meet some of the nicest people! It's also introduced me to Toronto, a city I love. (And if you've been there, and love the look and feel of it, do take a look at the Daily Dose of Imagery site (http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/), where a local Toronto photographer posts a new photo every day. I see many familiar sights in those photos, it's almost as good as going back there!
