1) I've always liked this episode. They finally acknowledged that
Schanke is trained to notice details and would start to really wonder
what the heck was going on with his very odd partner.

2) "I don't tan, I don't burn, I implode". One of my very favorite
lines from any FK episode.

3) I like the red eyes as Janette comes through the darkness to
Schanke. And I like how angry she is that Schanke has broken into
the club and is snooping around.

4) Janette tells Schanke that the photo of her and Nick and LaCroix
is "their grandparents" and after he acknowledges that, Schanke says
he came to Janette because "your his friend". Friend??? Heck, I
think she just said they are brother and sister or at least cousins.
Funny how Schanke just glosses over that one (well, it was the
writers glossing over).

5) why would Nick keep an old driver's license in the glove box of
the Caddy...where it could be found?

6) The grimace when Schanke tells LaCroix that the blood in Nick's
fridge was cow instead of human is always amusing.

7) I like how subtle LaCroix's approach to "controlling" Schanke is.
There really isn't any vampire...just the NightCrawler "working
through an issue" for a troubled caller. Yeah...just a shading of
whammy in the end to finish things off...but mostly just LaCroix
playing on Schanke's preconceptions and fears to direct his thoughts
into the place LaCroix wishes them to be.

One of my very favorite lines from any FK episode. I always thought that

I think this is a simple case of Nick not cleaning out the glove compartment
in the Caddy -- a very *human* trait. <g> I know that I've found old receipts
and registration cards in my car that I had tossed in there years ago and
forgotten about! I imagine Nick just tosses things in there as well and
forgets about them.

I think this episode (along with some others like Unreality TV) brings to
light how not cautious Nick is sometimes about protecting his the
secret of his vampirism. I think that he
so often gets away with stuff like having nothing but wine bottles in
his fridge, anachronistic objects like the license, and
potentially suspicious comments (like the implosion one) that he
doesn't stop to consider that a detective like Schanke
might eventually start to pick up on something.
