Ok, here's how I see it: Schanke can't sleep because he's too wound up
about his friend committing suicide. He can't figure it out, and he doesn't
really believe the whole 'dirty cop' line, so he's trying to make sense of it...
kinda hard to sleep with a lot on your mind. Nick is keyed up (and probably higher
than a kite from the drug) because it's his first day as a 'mortal' in 800 years.
No way he's gonna sleep and miss the daylight. Add in the fact that he's trying to
help Schanke find out what really happened with his friend, and voila... two
nightshift cops up all day. :-)
