I'm quite sure it's Sydney. I recall that Ger once said (I think it was during
this FK Valentine marathon moderation) that he is named after the actor
Sydney Greenstreet (Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon).

Natalie's cat was named for Sydney Greenstreet, best known for his
roles in the Maltese Falcon and Casablanca.

Better late than never....

1) MMMMmmm...the television show they are filming makes TJ Hooker look
like high-art. I think all Schanke can do is improve it.

2) when Schanke is not thinking about "being a tough cop", he actually
speaks like a professional. It is only when he starts dreaming of
stardom that he starts acting foolish.

3) ahhh...that is why they aren't driving the Caddy to talk with the
street gang...they had to do a car chase and someone decided to risk a
"Hertz-rent-a-wreck" instead of something pretty....bet the old girl
could have hauled that van down though...at least until the first
corner.

4) I like the older cop who teaches Nick real law enforcement in
Chicago. If the show was being shot today, I would like to think there
would be cases where Nick fixed things because he spotted the details
and was able to achieve his end without resorting to the vampire. It
would serve to show that the man was capable of surviving without the
vampire.

5) Nick's protests about the unrealistic view of police work that Alex
Logan has is ironic given that all the things he is protesting about -
frequency of shootouts, highspeed chases and general mayham - are all
much more frequent in the show itself than would be the case in real
life.

6) Nick: "You. What are you doing here?"
LaCroix: "Oh, the usual. Making your life a living Hell."

7) Now that is interesting. The technique Schanke uses to shot through
the locked door is actually the correct technique. You shoot beside the
tumbler barrel, trying to break or loosen the narrow metal tongue that
is holding the door shut.

8) I like that Schanke gets to save the day in this one...instead of
Nick. And he does it with nothing but nerves and his mouth. And I like
the little quip to Nick "sleep? not with this pulse-rate" which makes it
clear that Schanke was afraid/anxious/really focused as he talked the
gang kid into putting his pistol down.
