I never heard any tales of who got sick and who didn't, anybody remember any of them? *Mona, who wonders idly if this stuff is still manufactured.* ** ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2008 14:41:51 -0700 From: Amanda Berendt <debrabant_foundation@y.......> Subject: Re: Ancient Ribena --- Ramona Jackson <lexyladyjax@g.......> wrote: > So, does this count as a souvenir or a fossil? *giggle* Anybody > know how it came to be chosen as the blood substitute for FK? I never heard any tales of who got sick and who didn't, anybody remember any of them? Well it's drinkable... and under stage lights (and regular lights) it looks like blood. It is a popular juice brand in the UK.. they have several flavors (blackcurrant was the one used in FK) And you can buy it ready to drink, in concentrate, or in powder. _Amanda (looking forward to getting some when I go back to the UK in august) "This dark gift brings enlightened sight, as if the sun's bright rays illuminate sweet mortal forms to take my breath away." http://www.darksideoftheglass.com http://lestat.darksideoftheglass.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2008 15:11:24 -0700 From: "Susan M. Also, if you have a pairing photo that you want to use, you can upload that as well. I'll work on templates for adding fanfiction pages, fansite pages, fanfiction archive pages, actor and character pages, fanzine pages, etc. If you have any questions, please let me know. This is our history we're documenting. Regards, Susan M. Garrett susanmgarrett@e....... "Friends help you move. It's a thick, sweet blackcurrant syrup that you dilute with water to make a long cold drink. If anyone wants to try it, I'd be happy to mail out some 'ready-to-drink' cartons. Much cheaper than the large bottles of undiluted stuff! Lorin ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2008 20:11:33 EDT From: Nickismom1228@a....... Subject: Re: Ancient Ribena I've got a bottle sitting right here above my computer. It's provably not as old as yours but it's at least 5 years or more old. Sitting in a glass pretending to be blood on FK...absolutely believable. Especially if spilt on on clothes - stains just like blood and just as hard to get out. In Malaysia and Singapore, you can get it pre-mixed in 200ml foil packs with additional flavours (blackcurrant+pear, blackcurrant+peach, blackcurrant+glucose). The pack, I swear, never fails to remind me of the blood pouches that Nick sipped from in "Only the Lonely". A few weeks ago I lost my Mom and now I am engaged in the daunting task of clearing out the family home. As part of this process I am drastically paring down my own collections. Which means is I have a number of fandom related items that need to find new homes. There are many Forever Knight items but I also have items from Due South, Star Wars and Star Trek. If you are interested in learning more please contact me OFF LIST at _LDukie913@a......._ (mailto:LDukie913@a.......) . Thanks! If the spirit moves you, click on an episode, hit the edit button, and start filling in information. We need episode summaries, limited episode credits, memorable quotes (you may need to add that header to some of the 1st season templates, as I added it midway through doing those), and then fannish stuff - fan reaction, links to fanfic associated with those eps, etc. If you have any questions, please let me know.
