It seems to me that there is a nice shot of the fireplace somewhere in 1st season. I'm thinking in "Last Act", but I could be wrong. I'm also thinking that there might be shots from "Killer Instinct" when the police are searching the loft, but it's not lit up in those scenes. Most people have minds like concrete: mixed up or permanently set. ----- Original Message ---- From: Kristen Fife <fenix23fyre@y.......> To: FORKNI-L@l....... First the "spawning urge" while fishing, now this. Here is a plot-bunny for someone to play with. Myra is in fact a mermaid. 3) six killings in one month...all with watches...and no one is screaming about a serial killer??? You'd think the press would have the city whipped up into a panic. 4) <with reference to the scene in the morgue where Schanke insists that hunting is a primal urge of man> Do you think Schanke has the front-doors off slouvaki shops he's "bagged" at home...or is it the umbrellas off hot-dog vendor carts.... 5) exactly where does Schanke's "street outfit" blend in???? I suppose he'd have a shot during Marti Gras in New Orleans....because most of the crowd in the French Quarter would be hammered near to blindness.... 6) You'd think someone would notice a vampire flying by 30 feet over the streets...even at night. 7) There is something unique and unusual in Natalie's office this time around. Points so whoever noticed it...double bonus if you know what it is doing there. 8) the sun comes up fast in Toronto. I'd swear that Nick walked out to his car at night in the police lot...not just at the cusp of dawn as is revealed when the plot requires it. 9) Toronto has the world's cleanest sewers. Anyone know where these scenes were actually filmed? There is so much light that I'm inclined to say it is a sound-stage instead of an actual location. 10) Nice trick catching an arrow in mid-air. I still think Nick should wear bodyarmor, however. It would eliminate the potential for awkward questions about how he's survived a gunshot from close-range....without having to have Natalie dig around for the slug(s) afterwards. 11) I like the very, very end scene. Nick telling Natalie/Schanke that he likes dark (with reference to Natalie's gallows sense of humor) and giving her a kiss on the cheek and the "look" that she gives Nick. What is that? Not the normal angst...not the normal pining...more something really mature and ...resigned???? In that moment, Natalie looks older than her years...more understanding of Nick than has been the case in the past...and somehow...at peace with the disturbing insight she now has. My guess is that the police managed to keep the details of the watch from getting out to the press, so they wouldn't necessarily connect the killings. Apart from that, the victims don't actually have anything in common except for the cause of death, and GSW is common enough that it probably could have escaped notice. > 6) You'd think someone would notice a vampire flying by 30 feet over > the streets...even at night. FK vamps automatically generate a Somebody Else's Problem field while in flight? LOL > 10) Nice trick catching an arrow in mid-air. I still think Nick should > wear bodyarmor, however. We know Schanke at least assumes that Nick does, from his conversation with the biker in this episode. And, of course, if he did wear it, he wouldn't have the excuse to be shirtless in front of Natalie as often. ;) Roger ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2008 08:49:32 -0800 From: cindy clark <badwolf15895@s.......> Subject: Episode Discussion It's been a while since I've seen the episode, but I wondered at the time if he'd gotten caught up in a few too many "Starsky & Hutch" reruns. Yep. Put a fur collar on his trench-coat and gold-fish-bowl shoes...and he's: "The Don: Super Pimp" Tim ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Feb 2008 12:00:12 -0500 From: "Phillips, Tim" <Tim.Phillips@s.......> Subject: Re: Episode Discussion: Hunted >the victims don't actually have anything in common except for the cause of >death I hadn't thought of that. You are right. And I've read enough about real serial killers to know that it often takes a while for a pattern to be recognized and for someone to piece together that 5 murders in different areas are in fact connected. So long as the police kept the watches secret (and that is the sort of detail they would suppress if they could to weed-out copycats from the "real killer") there is nothing tying the various cases together except the bullets themselves. > 6) You'd think someone would notice a vampire flying by 30 feet over > the streets...even at night. > FK vamps automatically generate a Somebody Else's Problem field while > in flight? LOL Excellent idea. A SEP would explain a lot of unnoticed weirdness... > he did wear it, he wouldn't have the excuse to be shirtless in front of > Natalie as often.
