I mean when the two of them first met, Nat had done who knows how many autopsies and Nick's face had already been blown off. Seems to me that first impressions between those two were "down the drain" from the start... Cassie "Phillips, Tim" <Tim.Phillips@s.......> wrote: Ain't just germs. Cassie Ain't just germs. She pulled that thing out of the drain to an autopsy table. Germs are the least of what it has just been soaked in. Only Natalie would clean it up and wear it again...which is one of the quirks that make her such an interesting character. Phillips, Tim" Y'know, about that scrunchie: since it was in the pipes, Natalie may have just wanted to get the pipe cleared and took a wrench to it herself as a matter of pure practicality -- if she waited for maintenance to take care of it, it'd be a week before they would get to it, and in the meantime she needs the table. Plus, the nonchalant way she handles that wrench would have the added effect of impressing Nick, at least hopefully. MY question, however, is not what is she going to do with the thing, or why she is bothering to get it out of there herself, but rather, how and under what circumstance did it get there in the first place! I don't think it's sommething that could just wash into the pipe, and if that's the case . . . . On the other hand, maybe I don't really want to know. ;-? Opens up a whole new can of fanfic worms, doesn't it? ;-) I never thought of her as trying to impress Nick with her handling of the wrench (Nat doesn't seem the type to really care about impressing people). She seemed entirely comfortable and at ease using the thing, like it's something she's done a hundred times before. Being a single, independent woman, it makes sense that she would have learned how to do minor 'household' repairs herself. KC Smith tigrlady2u@j....... Nick/Natpacker with dark tendencies. I wonder whether full US network airings of _The Border_, if successful, might have any subtle influence on SciFi or Chiller putting FK into the line-up for a round or two. Amy R. akr@l....... One interesting thing about FK is that the stories are not really time fixed, that is, relative few dates or events that can be pinpointed in time are mentioned in the contemporary portions of the shows. So, the series could be replayed without any references to the dates 1992-96; just assume the stories are contemporary. On the plus side for this is Nick's car. We *know* it's a sixty-two caddy. Also most other cars shown are fairly generic or on the screen very briefly. On the negative side, well, yes, they do use cellphones. Big, clunky things that almost look like the radio phones of years ago -- but they are cell phones! ;-> Walt Doherty Phoenix, AZ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Feb 2008 12:52:42 -0800 From: cindy clark <badwolf15895@s.......> Subject: Siege Perilous Does anyone out there still need "Siege Perilous" for their collection? I found 2 hardcover copies for $7 each at a local bookstore. If anyone wants them, let me know and I'll pick them up. We can work out postage etc. afterward. Most people have minds like concrete: mixed up or permanently set. ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 2 Feb 2008 to 3 Feb 2008 (#2008-30) ************************************************************
