Hi All,
there was a lapse in time when I was not on this list so this may be
something that everybody besides me knows...

What has Parriott done since FK? Has he done any shows or films that have
been as successful or more so than FK?

My perception (for what it is worth) is that the way he ended FK, a two
episode blood bath where nearly every major character was killed, was in essence
a petulant tantrum. Others believe that this was his way of giving the fans
closure and that he always intended for FK to have a tragic ending. What I am
wondering is how did/do the folks in the industry view him? Has he been
successful post FK (like Paul Haggis after Due South for example) or did he
kill his own career at the same time as he killed our favorite characters?

James Parriott has had success since Forever Knight. He is behind the scenes
at Grey's Anatomy.

that was my opinion as well.

As for what happened afterward assuming LN actually happened is that
LaCroix did not kill Nick nor did he make any attempt to save Natalie.
Not Saving Natalie was his choice. He took Nick away and then had to deal
the aftermath. Nick locked himself into a Curiouser and Curiouser scenerio
Or in other words had a nervous breakdown. LaCroix then found himself in
the strange postion of wishing he had saved Natalie.

However not to worry - Janette arrived sensing Nick's torment in time to
save Natalie.(bring her across) However because she's annoyed at Nick for
leaving Natalie to die and for bringing her back across (it never occurred
to me that he didn't) she doesn't tell either LaCroix or Nick that Natalie
is still around. Until she learns that they are in danger of losing
Nick's mind. She then brings Natalie to Nick but it doesn't work because in
his present state of mind Nick is so sure he killed Natalie that he can't
accept she's there because she's a vampire.

At this point I also reject Schanke's death and have LaCroix forced to go
to him to get him to snap Nick out of his depression. (he's still human)
Part of Nick's breakdown is the belief that Schanke died.

Meanwhile The Commissioner Vetter wants Nick's head for being responsible
for Tracy's death. Since Nick wasn't he's after him for the disappearance
of Natalie.

That's my solution.

After FK, he worked on "Dark Skies" (SciFi thriller about Aliens
among us) and also on "Grey's Anatomy" and on "Ugly Betty".

On the last disk of the Season II DVD, there's an interview with
Wyn Davies and Parriott. Perriott talks about the final episode
and one of the things he said was that in the filming that the
powers-that-be first wanted it to be a definite end and that the
characters should die, then they wanted it ambiguous (so if
they wanted to make a TV movie later, they could), then they
didn't, and back and forth. Apparently the very last
message was to not kill them off, which is why we don't see
    the stake actually strike Nick.

As Wendy replied in a previous post Jim Parriott was a writer and executive
producer on Grey's Anatomy (ABC) for it's first two seasons. For his work on the
series he and the other writers were both nominated and won WGA awards, won a
producers guild award and were nominated for an Emmy.

He was also a writer and executive producer during the first season of Ugly
Betty (ABC). For that series he shared with the other writers and producers an
Emmy nomination and won a Writers Guild Award. He is no longer with the series.

Ugly Betty is the last thing imdb.com has him listed for.

Right after Forever Knight ended he went to work on Dark Skies for NBC as a
writer and producer. It was one of the many shows that launched that season trying
to capitalize on the X-Files' success. The show was not picked up for a second
season and was cancelled. In between Dark Skies and Grey's Anatomy Parriott
worked on a failed tv pilot called Rag and Bone based on an Anne Rice story. It's
the project that he's alluded to in season two dvd extras but this project had
nothing to do with vampires. It starred Dean Cain (Lois & Clark), Robert
Patrick (The X-Files, Terminator 2) and Kelly Rowan (The O.C.) and it was about a
priest joining the New Orleans police department. Then there was the American
Embassy for FOX but that one didn't last longer. Then he worked on Push, Nevada
(ABC)as a co-executive producer. It was a series that got a lot of buzz because
of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's involvement as producers and because of its Twin
Peaks vibe but it was cancelled midseason. And then Threat Matrix for ABC. It was
a show about national security and that one lasted about half a season.

I really enjoyed the fic :) Thanks for posting/linking.

I like a lot of the concepts that have been discussed. My one attempt at a fic
involved them getting a happy afterlife...it's in the FKFIC archives but I'll
have to look up the name cause I forgot.

I still want to write a Highlander cross...Nick mortal and Nat as an immortal.
But that's just a personal thing. I wonder, if we stuck with strickly FK...what
would it be like if Nat turned but Nick became mortal? Reversal of the
 positions.

Warning: silliness ahead

LaCroix stayed in Toronto long enough to arrange for
Nick and Nat's remains not to be found by police. He
set off in search of Janette.

After finding Janette in Paris, the two of them
entered the world of competitive ballroom dance. They
danced their way from championship to championship.
When not competing, they watch Tivo'd episodes of
"Dancing with the Stars" and snicker at the
contestants.
