Hi, folks,

For some reason I missed digest 89. Can someone send it to me? Thanks.

Also thought I'd make you all aware of a convention where Nigel Bennett is
appearing as *Writer* Guest of Honor (this is a SF con, not a media con).
It's SheVaCon and is February 22-24, 2008 in Roanoke, VA. P. N. Elrod will
be there too.

You can find out more info about the con here:

I agree the Lacroix wannabe needs a revamp<haha>. He doesnt quite inspire
awe and terror like LC did. And I thought the female lead's character was
fairly good. Though obviously with such young vamps they have restricted
themselves to fairly present day flashbacks, something that I really liked
about FK.
It's nice to have a show that brings back the memories of FK!

Not to worry, hon, I won't darken your door! ;-P Nor will I insult you
about your likes and dislikes, either.

Years ago, we had someone on FORKNI-L go around to another (short lived)
> vampire show's message boards and leave some very nasty message about that
> show and its fans. It caused at least one of my friends to leave Forkni-l as
> she didn't want to have anything to do with people like that. I don't want

Personally I don't understand the point of insulting people because they
like a series or not. People are different and they like different things.
I *wish* I could like Moonlight as much as I like Blood Ties. Blood Ties
reminds me of FK, but in a good way.

I happen to love Moonlight as do many others and there's nothing wrong with
> that. There's also nothing wrong with not liking it as much as FK or not
> liking it at all.

Mayhap I will come to like it as well...who knows? So far it amuses me.
Not in a good way, though, I'm sorry to say. FK had its dreadful episodes,
too, I seem to recall.

Talking about retread. Did you notice the flashback scene, where Mick killed
his sire? Didn't that seem a lot like the scene, where Nick "killed" LaCroix
early in the FK series? I want to go back and re-watch the FK scene. I swear
the scenes are almost identical, save for LaCroix didn't wear a dress. Now,
will she come back with a radio talk show?

As for the scenes, where she calls Mick, Nick, my girlfriend cracked up
laughing.

Brian

I'm with her, Brian, it's just too funny. And it's too sad as well.

And that's the same reason that Baskin-Robbins makes 31 flavors...because
not everyone likes vanilla! Everyone will see something different. LOL
I think we're all sooo spoiled by having a show as fabulous and special as
FK to compare this to.

FK was special and fabulous. We certainly agree on that!

Subject: List Home

I just want to thank Jean Prior, McLisa and Don, and
all the long time FORKNI-L list family. This has
always, with brief exceptions, been the most
civilized, considerate, friendly list I've ever been
on.

I have never been on any other list where courtesy and
tolerance towards other views have been as well upheld
as they are by the list owners and members here.

I have been on lists where they may have the same
rules as FORKNI-L, but they are rarely as well
maintained.

Although my interest in Forever Knight has waned at
times, I have never been able to leave this or my
other FK lists. The list members in the FK fandom are
like family, and I can't imagine not having that in my
life.

Thank you again,

Laurie of the Isles
