I personally find it a retread of FK and just watch it for the laughs. Every time Beth calls the guy Nick I scream with laughter (it's happened twice now) and I wonder whatintheh3ll is really going on at CBS that they couldn't fix this in looping the dialogue. Plus, it's really fun to blast it apart on the SciFi FK board, which is back now. My enjoyment of the series is decidedly mean-spirited and b!tchy. Really. I find Moonlight to be a pale reflection of FK, pun intended. It's really a shot and a miss, as far as I'm concerned. I look forward to Fever, though. Mayhap there will be an original thought in the script to come...or not. I rather expect a reinterpretation of Last Knight, somehow, without the bodies littering the stage... This list is for *FANS* of Moonlight, not those who want to ridicule or berate the show or fans. That doesn't mean you have to be a die-hard fan as we have some folks who are still trying to decide about Moonlight. Years ago, we had someone on FORKNI-L go around to another (short lived) vampire show's message boards and leave some very nasty message about that show and its fans. It caused at least one of my friends to leave Forkni-l as she didn't want to have anything to do with people like that. I don't want that to happen at FKmoonlight. I happen to love Moonlight as do many others and there's nothing wrong with that. There's also nothing wrong with not liking it as much as FK or not liking it at all. http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/FKmoonlight/ To keep down on spam, I have to approve each member so please be patient. You also must be 18 or older. Thanks! -Libs Libratsie@s....... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Oct 2007 08:39:37 -0400 From: "Phillips, Tim" <Tim.Phillips@s.......> Subject: Episode Discussion Reminder: Fatal Act Next Tuesday (October 23, 2007) is the day for the scheduled list discussion of Fatal Act. This is the next to the last episode of Season 1 and Captain Stonetree is front-and-center as the main character in the episode. Tonight, there is the opportunity not just for a vampire double-header, but a vampire triple-header. So...snuggle up with someone you love and catch a) Moonlight at 9:00PM on CBS (FK light...but with potential) b) Fatal Act at 10:00PM on DVD (keep notes for Tuesday and you'll have to find someway to kill 18 minutes with your sweetie because there aren't any commercials on DVD) c) BloodTies at 11:00PM on LifeTime (FK Alumni Christina Cox - Joan Of Arc from Season 1 - in Toronto with vampires. Well written, well acted. Christina's character of Vicki reminds me a little of a Dark Perk interpretation of Tracy Vetter...so its fun to listen to the echos of FK while enjoying something new. Enjoy your weekend everybody. Did you notice the flashback scene, where Mick killed his sire? Didn't that seem a lot like the scene, where Nick "killed" LaCroix early in the FK series? I want to go back and re-watch the FK scene. I swear the scenes are almost identical, save for LaCroix didn't wear a dress. Now, will she come back with a radio talk show? As for the scenes, where she calls Mick, Nick, my girlfriend cracked up laughing. Everyone will see something different. LOL I think we're all sooo spoiled by having a show as fabulous and special as FK to compare this to. -----Original Message----- >> But the most interesting thing about it is the diversity of opinions >about the show. You can read six different reviews and get six totally >different opinions, from terrible to great. It makes you wonder if all >these people saw the same show. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Oct 2007 12:41:04 -0700 From: Laurie of the Isles <laudon1228@y.......> Subject: FK/Doctor Who xover A friend of mine sent me a link for an intriguing little FK/DW xover. It's an intriguing little story, not much more than a drabble. It involves LaCroix and The Master, before the events in the DW episode 'Utopia'. 'Meeting the Master' LaCroix/The Master SPOILERS for the end of DW season three if you haven't seen it. WARNING:It's slightly slashy, but IMO, it's more about power than sex. http://renbyrnes.livejournal.com/17274.html I have mixed feelings about it. I'm curious to see how others react. I am a HUGE Doctor Who and Torchwood Fan. I was working on a story where Nick winds up back in Wales after LK, and goes to Cardiff to 'relax' and winds meeting Jack there. Two guys who can't die. Hmmmm..... Real life has come up and I've gotten into video making, so needless to say it's still sitting there.
