No, I don't think so. Like Angel, it does have some similarities... vampire detective trying to atone for his sins, pretty mortal he can't have a relationship with because of the 'beast' within, annoying other vampire telling him to live like a vampire and forget the mortal self (and soul?) he left behind... stuff like that. But I've been finding that that is common ground among a number of vampire stories. I was trying VERY hard to judge this show on its own merit and not compare it to FK. As a pilot episode, it wasn't too horrible. Nor was it great. But if I'd seen FK for the first time by watching the pilot eps, I'd have never gotten hooked. DK 1&2 are, to me anyhoo, not very good. I had to come in a bit later to really appreciate FK. The previews for the next episode look interesting, so I'll wait until I've seen a few more eps to make a firm decision as to whether or not I'm on board. After all, NOTHING can ever truly replace Forever Knight... but maybe it can help to fill the void. KC Smith tigrlady2u@j....... Nick/Natpacker with dark tendencies. I didn't either...really the show seemed slow untill the end then it seemed better. I needed to see a little emotion there. But I really think it will get better. Pilots shows are never as good as following episodes. It takes time for show..like people to learn and develope. I thought someone said they were 400 years old? The lead vampire is a mere baby compared to Nick, Janette, and LaCroix. Mick is a 60-year-old vampire. The young yuppie guy is the 400-year-old vampire. Jason Dohring, 20 something, late of "Veronica Mars" plays Josef Konstantin. Konstantin was originally scheduled to be played by Rade Serbedzija, who plalyed in "24" among other things. More apporpriately, he is in his early sixties. --WD > > > I think the lead actor has a nice voice, though.
