An Ontario plate would have had three letters, space, then three numbers until it went to ZZZ 999, then they went to three numbers, space, three letters until 999 ZZZ. Then a fourth letter was added with the letters and numbers were reversed again, so that the current format is AAAA 111. Anyone can order a "vanity" plate with any 7 characters, of course. It's interesting that they used the same fake plate for the two shows, though, as they were in production about the same time and many of the production crew (and directors) were the same. Or, if there are common production people, maybe an inside joke. Were the plates identical in shape and colorr? Maybe it was a cost saving measure and it was "borrowed".
