Not even gonna talk about differences in special effects, 'cause of course technology has advanced a lot in fifteen years. So I'll just go with plot and chara issues here. Unfortunately, you don't often see vampires alone anymore, so if FK were made now there would probably be werewolves, demons, or some other type of monsters figuring prominently into the plot. Nick and Nat's relationship would probably be less ambiguous, but they would still have a lot of romantic issues (how many humanXvampie couples don't?). I'm not sure I agree about more focus on the forensics aspects, though there probably would be more questions raised if Nick still did things the way he does in the show. It's also likely what forensics were in the show, Nick would be more involved in it rather than just popping in once in a while to ask Nat about results. Vampies seem much more mainstream now, so there might be an effort to make most of the vampie charas seem less like outsiders. There would probably be more of them holding down jobs and trying to blend in with the human population. It's also worth noting that through media coverage of real people who are allergic to sunlight, vampies could use that excuse more easily, with less questioning, and more understanding and sympathy from the human charas.
