I remember reading some stuff online about Natalie's birthday but in looking
through my links I can't seem to find them. Hopefully someone can come up
with them.

I can't remember off the top of my head why June is the month decided upon
by fans but it might have been a date mentioned during Nick and Schanke's
murder investigation. However I think some of the rationale behind Natalie's
June birthday is because of OtL's weather. It's clearly summer in the
outdoor scenes between Natalie and Roger. Kids are plays with water guns and
people are playing frisbee or volleyball or something outdoorsy. Also
there's a lack of any real heavy coats in the main cast. Now I've never been
to Toronto but today's weather forecast in Farrenheit calls for weather in
the upper 80s and tonight's lows in the upper 60s. That's some very nice
summer weather if I do say so myself. :-)

Although I believe the date on the script indicates that OtL was shot
sometime in August of 1992.

My understanding is that weather in April can still be a little be a bit
chilly at times but maybe our resident Toronto natives can provide more info
on that. As for the actual date of April 14th given in Last Knight I chalk
it up to a gaff that Michael Sadowski did, which is a shame coming from the
show's former story editor and one of their most solid writers.

I think I may have been the first one, possibly along with Valerie Meachum, to
write up the details of how we could determine Nat's birthday and OtL as being
in June. I can't find the details either anymore--it's probably in one of my
old spiral notebooks in a filing cabinet.

At any rate, the June date is entirely based upon prop canon. In OtL, either
in the past or the present (or possibly both), Natalie's wall calendar is
visible beside her at her desk and, on a clear copy, can be read to say "June." Then
later, when Nick is looking through her day planner, there are number dates
written on the days along with the "date with Roger" and "baby shower"
information. I don't remember the numbers, but if you count back the days in the ep and
the date of the potentially-fatal-date, her birthday is possible to home in to
one of two dates, which we pegged, at least in one Nat FAQ as June 24, 1962.
(I found this in OLD files from four computers ago and can share the whole list
 if you'd like.)

We did all this calculating and such long before LK ever was written or
aired--before there WAS a 3rd season (or possibly 2nd season)--and settled on it based
on the prop canon as well as, like you said, the clearly sunny summer-ness of
the kids on TO island when Nat is out with Roger at lunch before the
 kite-flying.

Yeah...I was not-thrilled with SO much of what happened off-screen at the end
of the series. The fact that the gave a date seemed unnecessary...but I also
think that there is no way they would have remembered prop canon, even if we had
put it in The Raven, which I don't believe we did (according to my search), so
 it's up for grabs.
