Now that I have all of the eps on DVD, I no longer need my video tapes (though I think my taped DK has a fuller version than the DVD?). Anyway, in that light, I'm willing to give them to anyone who might like them. I just may need help with shipping costs. Be aware that these aren't sterling quality -- I taped them (commercials and all, Sci Fi version) off the TV at SLP speed to make the most of the tape and I may not have all of the eps -- though I may, and certainly most of the eps. Davis, the creator of the new series, made a comment that made me think. I am paraphrasing since I can't remember the exact wording right now, but he said that it is perfectly acceptable for someone to be a big fan of a sports team, but when someome says they are a fan of a television show (especially a scifi show) they are considered weird. I totally agree. It seems like scifi shows like FK or DW seem to get a dedicated following of fans, but the general public tends to look down on our devotion. I just think it is an interesting observation. -Amanda "This dark gift brings enlightened sight, as if the sun's bright rays illuminate sweet mortal forms to take my breath away." http://www.darksideoftheglass.com http://lestat.darksideoftheglass.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Mar 2007 05:23:49 -0700 From: Libby Singleton <libratsie@s.......> Subject: Re: Sci Fi TV fans Actually, I'm finding this to be less and less true. I've seen as many people who are big sports fans get odd looks as I have someone admitting they are big fans of a television show. Look at all the die hard fans of things like "American Idol" and "Survivor." They are pretty vocal these days, at least the ones I know. What I'm finding with Forever Knight is that when I wear my FK jacket or mention the show, some people will suddenly perk up and say they remember the show. This gives me a chance to say it is on DVD now <g> The weirdest reactions I get regarding a television show are with Star Trek - and that's from other Trek fans. Of course when I explain to people who know 'Forever Knight' that I have a half-eaten dead white laboratory rat used on the show, I sometimes get very odd reactions. I wonder why? *innocent blink*innocent blink* --Libs Amanda Berendt <debrabant_foundation@y.......> wrote: but when someome says they are a fan of a television show (especially a scifi show) they are considered weird. ------------------------------ End of FORKNI-L Digest - 20 Mar 2007 to 21 Mar 2007 (#2007-69) **************************************************************
