FORKNI-L RULES
1. No flames on list. FLAMERS MAY BE SET NOPOST. THE NOPOST MAY BE
PERMANENT.
2. Please don't quote more than four lines of a previous post in
replying. If you have more than one point to answer, then you may
quote the relevant four lines for that point also.
3. Limit sigs to 6 lines. Your sig starts with the first thing you
write after the text. It includes all the lines under that, even
blank lines.
NOTE: If you have one of those providers that insists on putting an
ad after that, don't worry. The ad doesn't count.
COURTESY NOTE: Please sign all parts at the end with your name and
address. Not all mailers show the original poster of listmail in the
headers.
4. Please don't send to the whole list when you are only talking to
the person who wrote the post you are answering.

Well, I can't tell you about Bianca in the tv show, as
she was only in one episode so far... but I know her
from the books. There are many similarities between
characters in Dresden and FK characters... but Bianca
I would not compare to Janette.
For one thing, she runs a brothel (okay, escort
service... but you know it's the same thing).
Somehow, I don't see our lovely Janette doing anything
like that. Because of her profession, of course,
Bianca is capable of being seductive and graceful and
any number of other euphemisms which would apply to
Janette. But at her core she is a Red Court vampire.
She is a monster... a grotesque batlike demon thing
using her beautiful human exterior to trap her mortal
prey.
Although I could see Janette in this light in a
slightly less literal sense, Janette is much more
controlled. Although she seems to have less control
of her baser instincts than Nicolas, she isn't driven
by her hungers.
I could be biased, of course. I don't like Bianca in
the books. I don't like what she does to Dresden...
or the wizarding world in general, so maybe I'm
reading too much into her. But as I see it, Janette
is a woman of refinement and beauty, whereas Bianca is
a woman of lust and greed. Janette is the way that
she is because it was how she was raised, both as a
mortal and then later on as an ornament for LaCroix.
Bianca is the way that she is because it is the
easiest and most convenient way to reach her goals.

I totally agree with you on Bianca. I don't like her
in the books either. She is a true monster whereas,
Janette is a product of her environment.
