After all psychiatrists have to tell if their patient is a threat to someone else. At that point it would be question of what Rochefort believed was his moral duty as a priest. Should he betray everything he believes in - ie the sanctity of confession or tell and save a life. It's a no win situation for him. If he doesn't tell and the murders keep happening the guilt of keeping quiet would probably destroy him After all it's probably safe to assume the man would come back and confess again after each murder. Once the press got wind of it, the church would probably take over and dictate policy. I don't know what their answer would be. Debbie >From: gwatson2 <gwatson2@r.......> >Is the "injury to the relation" (i.e. the killer being arrested) really >*greater* than the "benefit thereby gained" (i.e. someone's life being >saved)? Because if saving life counts for more, then Rochefort's Charter >right to freedom of religion would be superseded by the victim's right to >life. > ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Jul 2006 22:50:13 -0400 From: Stephanie Kellerman <stequina@i.......> Subject: Stories on sites I just want to mention that if anyone doesn't want their stories on any of my sites that I have archived, please let me know. I am more than willing to remove them without the need for threats. First, Kristin Harris being blasted because she has been able to put 3 of her outstanding peices of work on the next FK DVD, and I am positive that those who have taken this action in trying to scupper Kristin's site, did so out of jealousy because of the DVD's. Now I see a post from Steph Kellerman reminding people that she would be happy to remove tales from her archives with out the use of threats....! Has someone put something in the water or what? Are some of us having a major PMS problems all of a sudden? And why cannot we be happy for someone's success for a change? After all, in Kristin's case, did those who act against her have anything better to offer? 'Tiz sad but that can be the nature of fandom I guess, and FK is one of the better elements, believe me compared with other fan elements I could think of. Sorry for the grouch, but why can't we just all back off and help each other along now and then? Disagreements I can understand but threats and underhand sabotage, there should be no place for that. *Tired, depressed and a little bit angry at some of the FK fans just about now* Heather a.k.a Madam CodXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Jul 2006 11:01:11 -0500 From: eowyn23@j....... I can't imagine someone > hating me and my work so much they'd want to destroy me. I just want to point out that there is no way that Sony could move so fast on a matter of fan copyright infringement. That would take quite a while to percolate through the various legal departments. I would think it more likely to have been a result of your selling VCDs of the show on your website for rather large amounts of money. They could reasonably assume that you are making a profit. I have no idea if this is still the case, especially in light of the availability of the commercial DVDs, but I know that this topic has arisen in various discussions and it is conceivable that it came to Sony's attention. Just sayin'. Leaping to conclusions is not always useful. No further discussion on the list of the problems with Sony's cease and desist orders. It's already fiercely hot outside, at least in my part of the U.S., and we're not going to make it hotter on list. Thanks.
