Ah, thanks. I hadn't found this. However, I'm not sure that I agree with
Kristen's conclusion that the seal of the confessional would be inviolate in
a court of law. Clearly in most instances it would be--no question about
that. And, as a general rule, it *should* be. However, in "For I Have
Sinned", the writers have come up with a most extraordinary and extreme
situation. (Well, they're writers: that's their job: that's what makes a
good story.)

The sting comes in item (4), which (if I may repeat it) is:
(4) the injury that would inure to the
relation by the disclosure of the communications must
be greater than the benefit thereby gained for the
correct disposal of litigation
(The rest of the section makes it clear that the "relation" in question is
the one between the priest and the person talking to him, not the one
between the priest and the church.)

I'm assuming that, in the circumstances described in "For I Have Sinned",
the "litigation" mentioned in the passage would be something like an attempt
to get a court order to require Rochefort to speak.

Is the "injury to the relation" (i.e. the killer being arrested) really
*greater* than the "benefit thereby gained" (i.e. someone's life being
saved)? Because if saving life counts for more, then Rochefort's Charter
right to freedom of religion would be superseded by the victim's right to
life.

Subject: Looking for fellow fan

Hi,

I'm looking for a Forever Knight fan that I met about 11 or so years ago.
She was also really into "The Wild, Wild West" tv show. Her name was Rose, or
Priscilla, or Pamela, or Patrica, and she was from Hayward, CA. I visited
her house once for a Forever Knight/WildWildWest marathon/christmas party
sleepover. I think she might have had leukemia.
I lost touch with her when I moved to Japan for a few years. I'm trying to
get back in touch with her. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Lara (Sandala) Negami
