Subject: CERK page is finished!!! (well almost)

The website I had to do for my class is finished (well just about)!!!
I still have to add a JavaScript element. (which we are just
learning now) From what I have seen, I am not sure where I will put
it (doesn't really fit in), but we'll see.

What I have...
A schedule page
Nightcrawler download page
"The Nightcrawer is Waiting for you"
"What a piece of work is a man..."
The line from Sons of Belial from Paradise Lost
"Why probe a murderer's mind..." from Black Buddha
"Black magic, voodoo, bombers in the sky..." from Black Buddha
"Who knows the pain of death better..." from Black Buddha
and of course... "Life is a gift.."
A trivia contest page
A shop (tshirts, monologue cd, bumper sticker...)
Contact info
Sponsors page (TO places and Kristin's site)

It is kind of bare bones (not too much graphics right now. I don't
really want to go overboard with that. But I am thinking about a
more graphic background. Anyone have any (not too busy) ideas?

I also need to work on the first page... I want to make the words
work better.

Also I am thinking about putting one of the pages online for some
feedback. (ie all of the links wouldn't work) Would you guys want a
look?

I am just so jazzed that it is basically all finished!!!

Oh yes! I want to see! And maybe after looking at it, we can come up
with an idea for a java (java or java script?) applet/script. Maybe a
blinking Cerk logo? Hmm? Have to do some thinking.

Ok, I put it up... for a while. I figure probably until the weekend
or so. Eventually I plan to put it up for good once the class is
over.

You can check it out at
http://www.cerk.net (Thanks Stephanie!!!!)

I checked it out and it looks like everything is okay.
I know I want to change the wording on the first page.

The email on the Contact us page is an address I set up so you can
use that to contact me, or you can email me at this address.

For some reason I am not getting the results of the forms (contest
and shop) and I am working on that, but the page works.

Let me know what you think! I may not use all suggestions, but
hey... I wanted to show it to people since it is due 5/2.

Thanks again for all your help!!!

The site is awesome! It could use a slight pattern in the background, but I
wouldn't do anything too much. Maybe something like a water ripple type pattern,
something that gives a texture to the background without adding another color to
it. Sort of like a black on black (the only example I can come up with at the
moment) pattern. Just a thought.

I like it!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback for CERK. Hopefully I will be
able to work on it a little bit tonight.
Now that the content is all there... tweaking isn't that hard - just
fiddling with the stylesheet.
Can't wait until it is turned in and I can tweak it with FrontPage.

Thanks again... I am always amazed when people like something I have
done (whether it be fanfic or a site) I guess I kind of sell myself
short.

I only joined the fandom in Spring of '98, and the
main list later than that. I've never been entirely
clear: Are fanfic wars an FK fandom invention, or was
the idea imported from previous fandoms? If the FK
fandom invented it, how did it come about?

I had to go to a coworkers desk to give him something and on his desk
was one of those travel mug things. I almost started giggling
because it was solid black with the word "UNCLE" in bold silver
letters. That's all it said...
Did he steal LC's mug?

Subject: Please help with another questionnaire

If you recall, about a year ago I asked if people on the list could help me
with my thesis by completing a questionnaire in which you evaluated a list
of books, TV shows, movies (etc) as to how much they were appropriately
called fantasy, or science fiction, or horror, or realistic fiction, or
fantastic fiction--depending on which version of the questionnaire you did.
People were really nice, and a lot of you helped me.

So, in the past year I've been evaluating the results, and also writing up
background material. The questionnaire has answered a lot of questions, and
been really fascinating--not to mention useful!! But, like all research, it
has left me with even *more* questions, and shown me where I could use more
information.
So here I am, back again--asking again--if people would be willing to
help me again by filling out another questionnaire. It's basically the
same, except that the list of books and TV shows is different. Also, I've
broadened the range of questions by adding a bunch of artwork (paintings) to
the list. Mostly really obvious stuff; but it ranges from the very ancient
to the ultra modern.
Now I promise you: the list of books and movies is *much* shorter than
the last one. Less than half as long.
And, as for the pictures, you don't have to go looking: I've put them
up on my website. The url is:

http://ca.geocities.com/gwatson2@rogers.com/ZZ-QuestionnairePaintings.htm

So, if you are willing to fill out the new (shorter) questionnaire, would
you please contact me (off-list!)? I could really do with your help.
