A bit off topic, but I have hassles posting to the lists and seeing a reply,
so I have *no* idea if any stuff I have sent was posted, as I put the wrong
'from:.' email addy in my profile.

read it!

Yeah, we don't really have a collective name besides FK fans, do we? I
mean, Star Trek has trekkies...

If you love something...let it go. If it doesn't return...hunt it down, and
kill it.

Can we be "FReKkies?"

jurist who wore her Star Fleet uniform to sit on the White Water jury!!! She's
really made it difficult for other Star Trek fans in my area! No, I don't know
her because I purposely avoid her, although she does raise money for the
Humane Society from time to time which I applaud)

Subject: Re: getting to know us

Hi!
So I think I put this off as long as I could...procrastinator through
and through here. If anyone is still reading...here's my info.

>Who are you, where do you live, what do you do?

Lisa Knust, living in [Xxxxxxx Xxxx] (Xxxxxxx Xxxxx area), VA, although I'm
originally from upstate NY. I am an MD currently in my last year of Family
Medicine residency, which means I have to look for a real doctor job soon. :)

>Who is your favorite FK character and why?

Definitely Nick. I'm a Knightie, always have been, always will be. I love
both the angsty, optimistic Nick and the dark and dangerous Nick. I like
that there is both in one character. Honestly, though I like something about
all the characters, which is why I like the show so much.

>How long have you been a FK fan? How did you get
>started?

I started watching/taping it on Crimetime after Primetime in spring 1992
(way back in high school!) because I like vampire stuff and had read a review
about it in Entertainment Weekly. I think the first episode was Dance by the
Light of the Moon. Then I followed it around best I could during the 2nd
season syndication and even would sit in the dorm lounge in the middle of night
to catch 3rd season eps. I joined forkni-l shortly before FK was canceled in
late 1995 when I first got e-mail and internet when I went to college.

>Have you ever met anyone off the FK lists?

Yup. Initially met some fellow VA FKers at several FK parties in the area
when I was in college and then road-tripped up to the 3rd Gerthering and met
more there. Freaked my mother out at first when she heard I was meeting up
with people I didn't know who were fans of a "vampire show." :) Eventually
was a bridesmaid in the wedding of someone I met on forkni-l, but I don't
think she's here anymore.

>Favorite Episodes for each season?

So hard, I hate to pick favorites in anything, but if you insist:
1st season: Feeding the Beast, Dark Knight
2nd season (my favorite season): Hunted, Crazy Love, The Fix, Be My
Valentine, A More Permanent Hell
3rd Season: Fever, Francesca, Games Vampires Play, Sons of Belial

>Other hobbies?

Unfortunately little time for most of them due to work, but when I can I
like to travel (especially to Walt Disney World), read, write poetry (hence
the e-mail address), play piano and guitar, watch movies, go to concerts.

>Family status?

Single, but only in my 20s, so still planning on family someday. Have
spotted Dalmatian brother in NY with my mother. :)

>Have you ever met anyone famous?

Ger at G3, David Copperfield (briefly), ate 3 tables over from Tom Hanks in
Williamsburg a few months ago. Can't think of anyone else at the moment.

Naturally, the common people don't want war, but they can always be brought to
the bidding of the leaders. Tell them they are being attacked, and denounce
the pacifists for lack of patriotism and endangering the country. -- Herman

just fine.

A guillemot is a pigeon-sized seabird. And apparently they hang out in
bazaars. <g.

My all-time favorite episode is "Stranger Than Fiction." I thought I'd die
laughing at Schanke's version of LaCroix the first time I saw it. I laughed
so hard I was literally crying. Still does it to me to this day.

Isn't it great that whenever you need a good laugh or a good cry, FK seems
to have at least one episode to perfectly fit the bill?

Beyone the obvious, a "vein" is also a "vein" of
conversation, as in "...along that same vein, Nick
shook his head..."
