Years ago I knew a child named Nicholas from a Polish,
Catholic family. He received presents on his name
day. Would children of Nick's time as a mortal have
received presents on their name days? Am I
remembering correctly that birthdays were not marked
with presents but name days were?

IIRC, the New Orleans accent is not Southern sounding,
no drawl. From what I've heard it actually sounds
closer to New York. A commentator once said it was a
consequence of being a seaport and having the input of
accents from all over.

Yes, name days were the annual celebration in Nick's time, not birthdays. My
relatives in Poland still celebrate this way.

re Rick Springfield...

According to IMDb, which, if my understanding is
correct, confirms their info with agents or stars before
loading it onto their sight, Rick Springfield was on the
soap from 81-83, and Nick Knight was done '89

     A. :-) But then, B also applies: I still have 10-15 short stories
circling around out there in the magazine & anthology shark tank,
hoping against hope for a nibble. But every now and then, amazingly
enough, one actually sells.

>If A, where are you published?

Mostly in dark fantasy anthologies. My story sales are listed on my
website at http://members.aol.com/JeanB7
And just to keep this nicely on topic, my FOREVER KNIGHT fanfic is
also archived there, along with lots of other fanfic.

>If B, do you have an agent or have you submitted to publishers?

I write short stories, which are not represented by agents (unless
you're Stephen King, anyway), so I submit directly to the
editors/publishers.

Hi Everyone,

I agree that they should complete the set and
that it would make sense for TPTB to do it. One
thing though is that Sony won't necessarily do it
if they don't think they'll make a profit. Does
anyone know how Season 2 is doing in terms of
sales? If it isn't better than Season 1 then we
may not get it. I hope that isn't true.

Question for the Kickstart the Knight folks: how
did that online petition fare?

Remember, folks, if we want the 3rd season, four
suggestions:

1.) Consider getting the other two (Holidays are
coming--give as gifts, ask for on your list,
etc.)

2.) Support petitions for this; vote for it on
sites like tvshowsondvd.com. We need to show the
studios that we want this product. (Any
petition, as we were reminded in Oct., will need
*at least* 100 signatures to be taken seriously.)

3.) Raise awareness at other relevant fandoms
where the FK alumni have been/are now since the
show ended. That's one reason I've kept sticking
the FK/Andromeda xovers at the Andromeda fandom
folks. It may or may not work but I'm trying to
do my part.

4.) Put in preorders for the set when its
announced.

Sorry if this is getting preachy. Just my humble
opinion.

Thanks

David

Subject: Re: Question for writers on the list

I haven't written any FK fanfic so far.

I am at the moment working on a crossover with Voyage To The Bottom Of
The Sea. For those of you old enough to remember. <gr>. For those of
you who aren't, it is about a very wealthy admiral, Admiral Harriman
Nelson, retired, who owns his own submarine with a window in the nose.
The crew went around the world on spy missions, running into monsters,
etc. There was one episode where Nelson turned into a werewolf so I
thought I could come up with a story using that episode.

I am working on a biography of Richard Basehart, who is mostly
remembered for his role as Admiral Nelson in VTTBOTS, but has about 260
credits to his name. I will have to get it published by a house that can
have it sitting in bookstores somewhere as he has fans that have no
access to the internet. ( For example, his 2nd wife and son have never
even seen a computer, his 3rd wife and daughters have seen a computer
but are not in the least bit interested in getting on the internet. I
keep trying to get them all interested as they help me with his web site
by giving me pictures and stories about him, but they have never seen it.)

I have talked with a couple publishers who are interested in the book.
I have about 100 pages written so far. Once I get it finished I am
going to help market it by putting a page up about it on my Richard
Basehart web site ( http://www.richardbasehart.com )

Subject: Re: Published writers on FORKNI-L

Hi-
I've had academic items on robotics published and was a contributing author
for the book "Build Your Own Combat Robot".
My only pro ion credit is the novel "Wing Commander" which is available on
Amazon.com
I still do write fanfic and had some fanfic published off-line (hard-copy).
I wrote a lot of Forever Knight stuff in the past that was published but
most of that is out of print - if you find anything of mine around lemme know!
Last thing I wrote that was published was a Harry Potter fanzine callled
"Harry Potter and the Wizards of the East" and it was published by
Agentwithstyle
- they have a website where you can get their books - agentwithstyle.com -
they also sell at cons!
Lately work has kept me from writing but when things slow down (like after
the holidays!) I'll be going back to work on my fanfic novella. What is
written is up for Beta on the adult fanfiction site. Its going to need some
work
before it comes out in hard copy and I'm hoping to illustrate at least some
of it myself. If you want the link to this work in progress write me off-list
and I'll give it to you. It is NOT an FK story which is why I am not putting
anything up about it here. I have other fandoms I like to write for and this
book is tied to one of those other shows.
Thanks for asking!
