Naturally, the common people don't want war, but they can always be brought to
the bidding of the leaders. Tell them they are being attacked, and denounce
the pacifists for lack of patriotism and endangering the country. -- Herman

Sorry for those who get this twice.

Billie-Lee's s/o called yesterrday afternoon (my mom
actually took the call). The surgery went well, and
she was doing about as well as you can expect someone
to do just post-adominal surgery. If I hear more,
I'll let the list know. I'm sure Billie-Lee would be
okay with passing this on to any lists she's on (where
it's permissible.)

This came across one of my work-related accounts. :)

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy,
did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was
alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a
jar.
ATTORNEY: But could the patient have still been alive,
nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been
alive and practicing law.

Natalie's fuzzy pink bathrobe, most specifically in
NIQ. It has been referenced in many fics over the
years.
