Just checking my Hotmail account in case there's anything *other* than spam
there, and found one spam email that had me in giggles - I think I'm either
getting Nat's emails, or one of the NatPack has decided to start spamming
the Cousins... which is not a smart idea, she growls.

It was from "Gourmet TV Dinners"! Yeah! Nat's favourite brand!

Wonder what LC would do with that piece of spam? (Send two year's worth to
Nick to torment him, perhaps?) And there's a fanfic idea in there if any
one wants to grab it and run with it...

I was reading on a parenting board I post to, and they were asking about
what everyone's kids were goign to be for Halloween. Well, someone
responded as such....

"Tyson (nothing), Conner (Spiderman), and Nick (Knight)"

Do you know how hard it was to not ask what kind of knight???? LOL

There's a very nice person who posts to the list up-to-date info.
on the doings of Ben Bass.

Might I ask if she'd be kind enough to contact me offlist?

I'm sorry to take up list time and bandwidth, but I'm having a spot of
bother after a very traumatic year, including my old PC going
into meltdown and taking almost everything with it, including my
address books.

Thanks for your patience.

Subject: FK - inspired Auction

Greetings everyone! [I hope it's still okay to post this...]

Happy Samhain, Halloween, etc...

Just wanted to drop a note and let you know about my little Halloween FK
auction - last year at this time I was pestering GWD & NB for autographs for this
event, so it didn't happen. I'm trying to make up for it this year. Especially
with so much of the donation money going to Katrina relief and all the others - a
lot of good places are hurting for donations. All profits from this auction
will go to the Children's Hospital Foundation (which I realize, most of you
already know is GWDFC's charity). I've already sent them information about the
auction, so I want to make a decent showing. I hope the uniqueness of the items and
the time and love of FK that went into creating them (plus the effort of hauling
all the retail items from the midwestern US to Stratford, ON and
begging/groveling for autographs) will inspire the celebrated generosity of the members on
this list. You inspire me - thank you!

And last, but most certainly not least: I have to publicly thank both Geraint &
Nigel for giving up so much of their time after their wonderful performances to
sign stacks of pages. They are truly two of the most charming and giving men I
have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

The auction items are located here:

(You may need to cut & paste the full link) And if you have any questions,
please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for your time!

Sorry, Maura, that link doesn't work - it looks like that's the link to go
direct to your personal page, which needs your eBay password.

If I got it right, the correct page is

All the best

I know it's a little early, but if anyone wants to be added to my X-mas
card list, e-mail me OFF the list and I will add you on. We now say
Happy Turkey, but first, 11 years married on the 5th, and Nigel turns 56
on the 19th. Stay safe.

Subject: Nick as a slayer

I picked up a book about vampires in contemporary
literature (it mentioned FK in several places) but one
of the interesting things I found was the analysis of
Nick's role as a vampire SLAYER. By trying to
change/eradicate his nature, Nick in essence became a
slayer (as we saw when he "killed" LaCroix and his
conversation with the Guide in "Near Death.") If you
write vampire fiction, I do recommend this book.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0813122422/104-1220160-7303937?v=glance

William Patrick Day looks at how writers and
filmmakers as diverse as Anne Rice and Andy Warhol
present the vampire as an archetype of human identity,
as well as how many post-modern vampire stories
reflect our fear and attraction to stories of
addiction and violence.

"The price for this gift is the darkness of the night, and the blood of
humanity to sustain you." -THICKER THAN WATER, Kristen Fife in progress
