No new health news this time (Lynne remains in a coma in the
hospital) but I do have some other "business":
1) Effective immediately, do NOT send any more snail mail letters
or packages to Lynne's apartment address. Instead, send it to
the address below. Lynne's sisters are going to close Lynne's
apartment at the end of October 2005. They will be moving her
things into storage. This is in preparation for finding a
long-term care facility for Lynne.
2) A few folks have left messages for Lynne on my voice mail and
I was happy to be able to send a CD containing them to Lynne
(in care of her sister Sheila so that Sheila will be able to
play it for Lynne). I have since found out that my voice mail
service has a limit of five minutes per message, so if you go
over, simply call back and continue as if there was no
interruption.
Perhaps you'd like to tell the story of where/when/how you
first met Lynne? Perhaps you are a fan of Gordon Lightfoot and
have a funny story? Please consider sharing it!
3) Long-time friend of Lynne's, John Fowles, suggested that Lynne
might enjoy hearing the following review of a Gordon Lightfoot
concert, written by someone who was attending a Lightfoot
concert for the very first time: http://tinyurl.com/debqu
John suggested the story would be a good one to read out loud
for including on a CD. I did in fact do this on the CD I most
recently sent to Lynne. There were parts of the story that
would have been better read by a Lightfoot fan and not me, so
I'm hoping someone else can do these in the future. It *is* an
enjoyable story so I'm glad John told me about it.
4) REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEER(S):
John Fowles also passed along a URL for stories people have
told about "Gord in My Life." Perhaps you'd like to dictate
one of these? For info, see ""Audio Gifts for Lynne" below and
click on the "Buy Online" for "Gord in My Life." Note that
clicking on the "Buy Online" only takes you to where you
can read the story; you're not purchasing anything.
Sending Lynne a CD or tape so she can hear her friends voices is
the BEST WAY we can help her right now.
Sorry if some of you are receiving this message more than once.
Kind regards,
Todd Andrews

The following information will be repeated in each update about
Lynne so you don't have to look up prior emails to find this
info.
1) Send letters and packages (large or small) to Lynne at:
Lynne Ackerman

2) The "Voices of Lynne's Friends" Project:
This is an ongoing project where people can call my voice mail
and leave a message. The voice mail service I use creates
digital audio files of the sender's call so it's easy for me
to create a CD after enough have accumulated.
Got a funny story to tell? Did something funny or interesting
happen to you today? An update on what's happening in your
life lately (new kid, new job, travel)? Please consider
sharing it!
The TOLL FREE number is 0-000-000-0000 and when prompted for
my phone number use: (000) 000-0000.
Obviously you must be using a touch-tone phone.
Call any time; it does not ring in my house so you don't have
to worry about waking me up if I'm sleeping. The voice mail
service has a five minute limit PER CALL but you may call as
often as you like.
3) The "Audio Gifts for Lynne" Project:
I've set up a gift registry that you can access for free at:
http://tinyurl.com/9mymw
Cassette or CD is OK. A shipping address is included at the
above link.
If you or someone you know has already sent gifts to Lynne,
please visit the registry URL above to update the fact you've
purchased something, so that we don't have two or more people
sending the same item.
Some of the items have links to a web site where you *could*
buy the item, but mainly the link is provided for the
description. You need not feel obligated to buy them from the
linked-to website.
If you know of other audio/music interests that Lynne has, and
you want to share your ideas with others through the registry,
please let me know your suggestions and I'll add them.
