I've been in touch with two of Lynne's sisters recently, Sheila
and Sari, and they report that the doctors are still guarded
about Lynne's prognosis. She continues to have a traech tube
inserted to assist her breathing. There have been some minor
improvements: she can move a bit more and she has her eyes open
more of the time. But Lynne has yet to really regain
consciousness.

When Lynne is listening to music, or to the voices of her
friends, there is a definite, positive reponse in her facial
expression.

The best help we can all give Lynne right now is stimulation by
music, and most importantly, tapes/CD's of her friends talking
and sending her their best wishes.

1) Because I know not everyone may have the equipment to do this,
I'm volunteering to collect personal messaages and create a CD
I would then mail to Lynne. Got a funny story to tell? Did
something funny or interesting happen to you today? An update
on what's happening in your life lately (new kid, new job,
travel)? Please consider sharing it! And I'm making it easy
for you -- my voice mail service will make an audio data file
of what you say (so that makes it easier for me), and you can
call it and leave a message.

The TOLL FREE number is 1-888-___-____ and when prompted for
my phone number use: (503) ___-____.

Obviously you must be using a touch-tone phone.

Call any time; it does not ring in my house so you don't have
to worry about waking me up if I'm sleeping. Call as often as
   you like.

Please, folks, considering leaving a message for Lynne.
   Please.

2) Long-time friend of Lynne's, Janeen Schouten, has suggested
audio books as performed by some of Lynne's favorite actors.
I've set up a gift registry with Janeen's suggestions, plus a
couple of Barbara Streisand music suggestions from Sheila,
that you can access for free at:

   http://tinyurl.com/9mymw

Cassette or CD is OK. A shipping address is included at the
   above link.

If you or someone you know has already sent gifts to Lynne,
please visit the registry URL above to update the fact you've
purchased something, so that we don't have two or more people
   sending the same item.

Some of the items have links to a web site where you *could*
buy the item, but mainly the link is provided for the
description. You need not feel obligated to buy them from the
   linked-to website.

If you know of other audio/music interests that Lynne has, and
you want to share your ideas with others through the registry,
please let me know your suggestions and I'll add them.

3) A separate "I could use your help" request from me: A couple
of people have written to Lynne regarding the COUNTERSTRIKE
television series. Lynne appears to be a contact person for
fan requests/info. Does anyone know of an alternate contact
person to whom I could forward such requests?

I've had several requests to repeat the address for sending cards
to Lynne so I'm going to include it in each update from now on:

     Lynne Ackerman
     __ Xxx Xxxxxxxxx, Apt. ___
     Toronto, Ontario
     CANADA
     ___ ___

Please note: If you have something larger than a letter or card
to send to Lynne, contact me privately so we can figure out the
best address to get your item to her. Lynne's post office mailbox
is small.

Sorry if some of you are receiving this message more
than once.

Kind regards,
Todd Andrews
Portland, OR

Subject: FK moment

I work as a short-order cook in a bowling alley, and our PA system has been
down so I have the joyous job of yelling out the customers' order numbers at
the top of my lungs. Just imagine how loud I have to yell when people are
bowling and there's a big crowd...

One of our computers went down on Wednesday, and it's the one which makes
all the backups of our sales receipts, so as we can't make backups we can't
finalise our daily run. In laymans terms - our order numbers won't reset to
zero each day. The numbers have been going higher and higher... and yes,
I've been waiting eagerly to see if they would just go high enough before
they fixed the computer (sad, isn't it?). Well, of course I'm not yelling
the entire order number - 682 becomes '82', 709 becomes '9' - but we finally
hit the magic 1228 just after the lunchtime rush yesterday. I yelled the
number (the whole number, of course) with a big grin, and waited to see who
had it - and it was this tall blue-eyed guy with a blond buzz-cut!

A few co-workers who know about FK saw me and were laughing, so I went over
and explained who LaCroix is, and a few minutes later one of them stuck her
head in the kitchen and said "you've got to see this!". I went outside -
and there was my 1228 guy, wearing a long black leather coat and a black
fedora-type hat, striding across the parking lot with the coat flapping out
behind him.

What are the chances, huh?

Oh, and I thought you were talking about K-Town from LEXX. But that would

Sorry, but I couldn't resist ;-)
